how hard is it to retrim the doors (like Killbilly has done) in a TR?

It's very easy, just get the material you want and go for it. the top section comes off so that's pretty easy and the bottom section you can either cut out and put a custom insert in, or you can even stick one over the top it's up to you.

do i need to remove the whole trim to take the top section off?

LOL my car doesn't have ANY trim :(. All i have is indents on where one should be, what could i use to put in there? I was thinking making a piece of wood that would fit, putting blue or silver colour vinyl over it and then somehow sticking it on, but how hard is this to do? and i imagine it'd need a ****load of effort in designing.
this project of yours TR-envy sounds more difficult than your grille project that never took off the ground coz it was too hard. :bowrofl:

take off the whole door trim, coz makes it a lot easier in the long run. Then the top part is just clipped in (can't remember if there was a screw or not). Remove the existing trim and then go about replacing it with what you like. If you just have sections and no existing trim, then cut the shape from a piece of wood and insert it yourself. There's a million and one different ways of attaching the trim, from glue to screws and adhesive tape so just choose whatever you'd like. There's also plenty of styles of material to use aswell, like carpet, vinyl, leather etc. So go nuts.

It's pretty easy, as it's said before, just remove the trim, take off the little clips that hold the middle piece in and then just peel off the old, stick on the new. Make sure you pad underneath whatever you put on, as I forgot and it looks tacky :P

LOL true true, but if it's anything like my grill project it'll just come out half arsed. I did actually finish my grill, looks neat, but it doesn't look anywhere near what i wanted it to *crys.
I think the hard thing about it is the curves, if you want it to look good, you'd have to make the wood the right curve and that sounds very tricky.
