Ego,
get a piggy back computer, and get a stage 2 top end from RPW.
u get lumpy cams and worked heads. would chew a bit more juice i would presume but it would haul arse. you'd be looking at 180kw at the wheels i would believe

Got any idea of what $$$ would be involved, piggy back around $1000 but what about top end..
Im just sick of mates with worked Skylines and VLT`s that think they are good when they just beat me and say im only running 10 pound boost. my reply is im not running any and you only just beat me you tossa... lol lol lol

The stage 2 top end would be good if it works...the only person I've known to have it done was Nick and it certainly wasnt anything to bother with...
I'd look at some porting and polishing, cams.
Depending on far you want to go, you could go and get lightened internals. I'd also look at a lightened billetted flywheel. These are things I'm looking at doing later on down the track.
You don't get more hp from that, but you get to your max hp zone much quicker, hence quicker 1/4 times.

The whole thing is getting to hard, just want something simple, might just look at some small blowers running 6-7 psi..

Why not start with some extractors and CAI. With just these two mods i managed 132kw at the wheels which is about 179kw at the engine. Im just about to fit a greddy e-manage.
If you want more then look at cams etc, stage 2 might be a little extreme but stage 1 would work nicely.

What are these things meant to have in KW at the wheels standard...???

Yeh good idea, but i thought they were impossible to get unless you owned a ralli art? CAI, extractors and sports exhaust should give you plenty of power :).

Here in the US you can pick up a Nitrous kit for around $500.00. I know that would be a little more in Aus money but 2000?!?, thats just crazy. Installing and tuning them is not hard. Contrary to popular belief they are not any harder on an engine than any other power adder. They are usually jetted rich from the factory so people like to lean them out a bit, but usually go to far and blow it up. Or they try to spray for like 1 minute at a time. Where you should only go a 1/4 mile at the most while spraying. I even know of one guy here in the US that ran a 200shot (yes 200 shot) on his STOCK 3.0 6G72. It was in a car called a Sebring here in the US. He ran a 13.8 down the 1/4 with it. He did blow it up eventually but how long would you expect it to last pumping out more than double the stock power. Just my 2 cents...

They have the complex, forget about them. You can't go comparing boosted car's to non boosted cars.
Ralliart cams etc can be bought without owning a Ralliart. I spoke to Allan from the AWD Quadtec team and said anything can be purchased. Just go to a different dealer or chat to someone from Mitsu on here like funky_fresian_cows or revelstone2.
Have a think about if you want to stay NA or go forced induction. You could start with headers but then if you go a turbo, they will be redundant. Could be okay for supercharging though. The rest of the exhaust would need to be thought about.
You could go cams but again you'd need to think about NA or boosted. Higher compression? Headwork? Or even a twin throttle body arrangement?

Accually he is pretty spot on with the 179kW flywheel figure. Stock VRX Manual will pull about 120kW ATW from 163 flywheel kW.
Thats a 26% drive line loss, therefore: 179kW(flywheel) - 26%(drive line loss) = 132kW(@ wheels)
:D
PS: that means my TF auto used to have 154kW at the flywheel (going on 29% D/L loss for auto)

Some people have been burnt by RPW. Some people know people who have been burnt by RPW and hate them by association. Some people have had no problems with RPW. Some people have had good experiences with RPW. Some people have had a combination of all of these scenarios.
Choose your own path.

We have also done a Stage 2 with Camshaft, Cam gears, Valve springs, throttle body and extrators on a 3.5L TJ. Just over 170kW at the wheels. Apparantly breaks traction in 3rd and churps in 4th. A little crazy I think, but the guy loves it. Everything went straight on without problem and the Stage 2 wasn't too lumpy or too bad at idle, in fact quite streetable.
But for now, like AussieMagna said, just free up the breathing with exhaust, filter, throttle body and see how you go.
As for RPW..... Well, we certainly have first hand experience since we are their distributor. I ain't going to lie and those who knows me, knows I have a big reputation for straight shooting. I think their products are very good. Got a lot of research behind it and from the feedback we have, everything works as they are designed to.
The only thing about RPW is stock availability. They do tend to run out quickly and it may take some time to get in. So I guess people get frustrated and since they are in Perth, it's not often quick and reliable with freight delivery time. But they are using TNT now, which is way better than before. So if people are frustrated with waiting, it doesn't matter what arrives, they will bag it anyway.
