Hi guys…. Again.

Once again I am having my typical bad luck.

I noticed yesterday my front left wheel was making a loud humming/grinding noise. And come later in the night it just got worse.

I went home and jacked the car up to check it out thinking that maybe it was the wheel bearing. After while of playing I noticed when I spun the wheel it made crunching / grinding noises coming from the gearbox area (Could be the CV joint but it sounds like its coming from the box)

Now keep in mind I got this car second hand with 50,000 kms on it. And now it has 70,000. Not once did I do a burnout in it but I snapped 2nds once in the city while chasing a certain member of AM :) . But other than that I have been treating the car with the respect it deserves.

The car is currently at Mitsubishi getting the Thrust bearing replaced and this noise looked at. Any ideas on what it could be? Would it be covered under new car warranty? (I have 2 weeks of it left)

If you have two weeks left on the new car warranty, then it should be covered. Just make sure you read the fine print. eg: kms applicable.

Yeah but im worried that my wide rims may have something to do with something breaking due to to much strain..

did you try to turn the wheels whilst in neutral? If it makes that noise, then its most likely the steering rack

Oops i meant to write, Spin. not turn. its not when i turn the wheels is when they are spinning/ rolling..

OK. now im pissed. they said it was something to do with the diff, but they dont know what. Ill have to leave it there for 3 days. and given that they said they probably wont have it done then. :rant: as they dont know whats wrong with it.
Better yet they wont do it till next year and wont give me a loan car.
even more anoying is that i had to leave my car there today, i was 1.5 hours late to work due to them being d!cks. and all they did all day was 'Look at it' ... 5 minuate job.
