Hi my name is Dennis. I'm a newbi when it comes to motor swaps. I wanted to know if anybody knows if the ecu out of the us spec diamante will work with the mivec dohc motor? Also i wanted to know if the wire harness's are the same in both cars. I currently drive an 01 eclipse gt with the 6g72 3.0L sohc v6. Through some the research i have done on the diamante and the mivec motor I have found that the motor mounts are in the exact same place. To do the swap all i would need is the ecu and wire harness. And that's where i become stuck. I don't know if i could the use the ecu out of the us spec car or if i have to the ecu from the mivec motor. Could someone please help me out? :)

Im sorry, but it wont work. You will NEED the propper ECU & TCU (because in the mivec motor they have a 2 piece computer) OR a full aftermarket replacement...

So far, you need a full aftermarket ECU if you want a manual...The ECU for the MIVEC is only auto...
