Ok, now this is bazzar!

When ive got my wipers on delay (first click)

the wipers wipe the windscreen on the up stroke fine,
come back down, then go up 1-3 inches again and stop!?
doesnt happen all the time, but its starting to piss me off!

sometimes when its half way through the up then down wipe and i switch it off, it doesnt return back down it just stops wherever it is

im pretty sure its the motor for the wipers

is this a common problem? (96 TE altera)

and just wondering on costs involved :)

If it was the wiper motor... pull it out open the litle cover of the switch part and clean the contacts...

It happens in all magnas I think, you flick the washer and sometimes the wipers don't sit back down, they go up and stop halfway.. I have the same problem with you although mine doesn't do that when it's on the intemittent cycle.. only on the flick of the washer...

Of all the cars on the road today, i think the ONLY car that has wipers that are slower than the KE-KJ Magna is the old HQ holden's!!!
Not that it really matters, just thought i'd mention it!!
Sometimes i'm driving along and it looks like my wipers are really struggling. All the magnas seem to be the same, regardless of the condition of the rubbers!!

Mine seem to go pretty fast...
I have just replaced with Factory wiper blades...
I swear Ill never buy any other type... they are the correct length.. slide perfectly accross the glass. are low enough that they dont flop over like the after market ones... and are the correct width to slide into the clamps...
I love them.

I could be wrong, but I thought it was on the passengers side??

No, it's definitely the driver's side. It's not in the engine bay though, it's under the plastic covers in between the windscreen and the engine bay.

i have a problem with my tj in that the wipers dont go fast enough. its basically at one speed throughout. could it be a problem with the motor?
any ideas on how to trouble shoot that?
thanks
