At first i thought it was just me but tonight it did the same thing. On a relatively cold night when the engine is warmed up, the car has heaps more acceleration, and the dead spot between 1st and 2nd is almost completely gone! Will a CAI make it so this happens ALL the time, or will the heat still affect my car? I was thinking, hi flow muffler, CAI, and my 2.6 might be quick enough for me :).
It sure does have alot more kick on a cold night, anyone else experience this? anyone else with a nice CAI they'd like to share?

on cold nights my CAI works nicely and any speed over 60km/h its noticable. it can accelerate quite hard for a carby magna  i recently d/c my emissions gear from the carby and boy does it make a difference.

colder air = denser air = more fuel required = more power.

simplistic, but that's why you get more power.

Thats it i've heard way too many people ask for a CAI for the 2nd gen, i'm gonna go outside today and see if i can make up a kit or something.

OK, i can see how it can be done, i just someone to show me the air flow diagram of the 2nd gen, or know where the cold spots are. 2 ways we could do it. Have funnel leading to the airbox(which will be moved to beside the battery). Or we could do it ram pod style and just have the pipe leading to the MAS, then to the engine. I think the 2nd one would work, we'd just need the special one designed for the magna.

yeah deffiently, when its stinking hot like laterly my 2.6 basically doesnt move but at night time when im cruising i dump it into 2nd and it flys noticable, especially at the lights sometimes i keep up with VN's and other days when its hot i get blown away
