Hey guys, over the next few days i'm going to have a REALLY good crack at making up a CAI for my car, i have a number of ideas. I'll be doing a fair bit of testing and finding out where the coldest spots are will be a challenge but i'll do my best. What i wanna know is if by some miracle i stumble accross an ideal CAI for the 2nd gen, would people be interested in DIY kits if i made them up? I'd try to make the kits as cheap and effective as possible. Some may laugh at me (due to my lack of car knowledge), but i'm willing to give it a shot!

good luck, i dont think many, if any.. people have succesfully made a proper, high flow cold air intake for a second gen.
Theres just no room.
anyway, if you find anything, do tell

How about sticking a small computer cooling fan inside the intake piping? This will help to suck in the air.

Will do more harm than good. The volume of air that a small computer fan could move would be less than the volume coming in say at 80km/h. The fan would then become just an obstruction to the flow.
No need to have anything aiding the sucking in of air. If it's in a good spot, it'll take what it needs.

Get a power blower and smash air into the motor from it lol lol lol . I reckon you might get .5 psi boost - you'll be smoking 4th and chirping 5th ha ha ha!!!
