is anyone able to tell me the WIDEST and LARGEST rim that was fitted to a TE?

i spoke to vicroads, the RTA equiv in victoria, apparently im allowed to go 25mm(1 inch) wider then stock and then 15mm larger in overall diamiter

As an example: say i had 15" rims then went to 17" with lower profile tyres would i be able to goto 18" or would 18's be over all larger? not 100% sure how this is gonna work :)

re read the original post...

from FACTORY not the largest you can put on the car... :) i know you can put massive wheels on it, i just wanted to know what the largest they came with on the TE from the factory.
According to Mitsubishi this was apparently 16x6".

So legally in Victoria according to vic roads, you can go one inch WIDER so 7 inch wide and 150mm larger in overall diamiter(this included rim and tyre)

As you increase the size of the rim the profile of the tyre becomes thinner, i know that 15-17" the overal diamiter will stay the same, does this apply to 18" as well or will the overall diamiter of the wheel increase?
And if it does will it be anymore then 150mm?

I'm trying to keep this legal :)

if you guys dont know thats fine, but some1 that does i really would appreciate it if you can clear it up :)

Thanks guys

Just watch how you read into everything your Vic Roads tells you to make sure you're not hearing what you want to. I asked the RTA (in NSW) and i was like you looking for the largest i could legally go. When I started paying close attention to the fine details I learned that i was all in relation to the BASE model ie Exec.
I don't wanna rain on your parade and it may differ slightly for you guys in VIC, but just do it right the first time and save the hassle and heartache.
