hey al my old diamante(magna) is a 3 liter gdi v6 with high compression so it produses from the book 175 kw (240 hp) standard from the factory and im just wondering how much power a car usually looses from the flywheel to the wheels.

Manual tranny cars typically lose 13-18% and Autos lose 18-25%. Thats just a range though, it's hard to give an exact number. Depends on drivetrain condition and other variables.

Well my AWD is said to have 155kW at the flywheel and delivers 105kW at all wheels so you could use that as an example of a lossy system.

You would probably look at 115kW on a Dyno for your car.

Yeah I forgot you all can get AWD versions over there. I would add another few % to the numbers I quoted above for Awd models.

I just did the math and a 155Kw engine making 105kw at all 4 wheels is losing about 32.5%. That is rather high even for an Awd car in my opinion. Was you car in top running order when it was dynoed? Like new Plugs, Wires, Oil, Filters, and the sort. That 155Kw factory rating is obviously with everything in brand new perfect shape, as things wear you lose power. Also was it rather warm or were you in high elevation during the dyno? Those can also be attributed to power loss. I think even an Auto ( not sure if yours is auto but it's just an example because they would lose more) Awd car should lose at the most 30% to the wheels. I know dynos are not 100% accurate but if calibrated properly shouldn't be that far off. Just my 2 cents.
