Hi fellow magna owners....
I've got a drivers side electric window thats gone belly up.... It started making some grinding noises and has finally given up the whole up and down thing. I'm looking for some advice on getting the trim off the door so I can assess the full extent of the problem.
Secondly my transmission has the shudders from kickdown from 4th to 3rd... but with a change of the transmission oil this disappears for 6 to 8 months... but the old transmission oil has very fine metal shavings in it. Any clues out there on this one.....
Anyway I look forward to hearing from you knowledgeable people out there....
The car is a TH Advance

VERY VAGUE... then just pull the trims towards u to unclip the trim.. then pull up

Good luck on actually being able to 'repair' the power window assembly. Sounds like the cable, or one of the pulleys may have broken. I've never come across a power window assembly that was repairable (by normal human beings anyway). Ring around as many places as you can - you might be able to find a place that sells reco'd ones.
As for your auto problems - metal shavings in your trans fluid isn't a good sign. I'd be trying to find a good auto trans specialist in your local area and discussing it with them.

Gday mate. We had a plastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! cable tensioner on ours let go. Approx. $250 from mitsu for a new one. Luckily it was under warranty though. Good luck

Only assessing at this stage... I'll decide what to do tomorrow, when I have the trim off...
As for the transmission.....Its been the same for the last 2 years, any sign of the problem worsening will mean a date with the classifieds or trade-in for the vehicle.....
Thanks for the input
