hey guys
got a question for you all, as a roo recently met the front end of my car i had to get my front bar for my 97 verada sent away to get re fibre glassed as the issurance company was too tight to give me a new one. And the front bar was meant to come back yesterday from sydney but still not showing up, the guy at the panel beates is chasing them up as they said they sent it but he offered to put a standard bar on if it doesnt show up by wednesday on so i can drive it over christmas as i really need my car but i questioned about the extra lights and would it fit on properly, he dint know. Thats why im asking all the experts out there to let me know if itll fit or is he dreaming, otherwise i could be forced to drive my gf's car, and im not a fan of excels...
cheers all

yeh it is only for temp so i can have my car over christmas so if anyone sees a metallica graphic verada driving around with a different color front bar and thinks what a loser, its only me doing it temporily till i get my front bar back.
yeh im not paying for a custom one when i already have paid to get mine fixed, got plans to do a few mods on it when i get it back but im sure ill make a post before i do it to get some ideas.
so do u reken it will bolt straight on if i forgo having drivng lights
thanks man

I would imagine they would just bolt on ok BUT i'm pretty sure a verada's parking lights are on the front bar where it wraps around on the corners so if you replace it with a standard magna one you will have no parkers.. not very legal. Only the sports models with parabolic headlights come with parkers in the main headlight assembly.

im sure that u can put a set of parkers in the verada headlight setup as theres only a blank in there anyhoo. but that will most likely involve extra wirring . wuld u bother?

nah id just go illegal knowing me, not planning on doing too much night driving i just want the car so i can use it to get to newcastle and be able to drive it around. Fingers crossed the bar will turn up tomorrow morning and they will put it on so i wont have to worry about this just planning for it in case the front bar doesnt turn up at the panel beaters tomorrow

Your insurance was too cheap to cough up for $170 bucks!! Cause thats all they are.
Damn ... they would have had to paint it anyway, with the fibre work ... insane!

nah dont suppose itll hurt to tell ya, GIO. They arnt too bad had a heaps cheaper excess than NRMA for me being a younger driver who has already lost his license and learnt his lesson front it i must say, not good when your gf lives an hr away and neither of you have a license. But i didnt really check any others out was on the cooling off period when i hit the roo so had to make a claim with them or pay the $3500 for damamge outta my own pocket,

If the lights are ok (the parkers, not the foggies) then you can get one sprayed and fitted for under $400. If the reenforcement (the big metal bumper bar under the skin) needs replacing thats another $270,
but if they are simply fibreing a plastic bar ... damn thats just insane .. I just can't see why they would do it that way.
