Hey All,
Im just installing my headunit, and i need to find the ACC wire, its a TN. Now i had a look, and the best i could do was find a blue wire, which was a bit thicker than the rest, and had a fuse on the old h/u. COuld this be the one im looking for??

Just test the wires. Find a known ground, usually the black wire. And test it against the blue wire. Then again with the ignition on. If you dont have any fancy electronics equipment just use any crappy 12volt light etc...
Funny seeing everyone with their new chrissy pressies...
edit: Actually if it has a fuse, it will most likely be the battery, not the accessories. This is always live.
Good luck...

hey
see, if you're like me and odn't have a multimeter, i use an old speaker to try and find power wires :P
what s_tim_ulate said was right, test all the wires, and do it again with the key on ACC, its very simple. After that, u could try a little battery to do your speaker wires...
surely, u've had 2 days to do this, it doesn't take that long! :P
wonder if touching wires on your tongue would work

Pfff...Ill use it on your head if your not careful :P
From memory, blue wire is ACC in my TM... the TN should have similar wiring
Edit: Just checked the gregories, Blue is the ACC wire... if you want, get in contact with me on MSN and i'll send you a scan of the wiring behind the radio.
JUST TO ADD TO THIS THREAD..
where did u 1st gen bastards ground your headunits? i'm working on a '89 model 5sp manual SE wagon.....
the metal frame of the h/u gives a pussy readout of 1.3volts or something, lol
every interior part is carpeted, so i guess i'll just have to angle grind a patch of metal and drill a hole to put the ground to :doubt:
Or feed it into the engine bay onto a nice bolt..just that it will be a bit long

i grounded mine to the frame of the console which is firmly attached to chassis, with no problems.
Where are you getting your +12v from? It's been a while but i remember somthing odd about one of the power wires in the stock loom
