Hey guys,
I was driving my TH today and I was in the town so I was on the brakes a bit, u know, negotiating roundabouts and all. Anyways, i noticed this weird squeaking/hissing/hard to describe noise coming from the back right wheel.

It gets progressivley worse and increasingly prominent as you drive it more.

So i thought it may have been a rock or something, so i fanged it out the road and gave the brakes a bit of a go. BUT IT WAS STILL THERE....

I stopped at a makes house, and when i left, there was nothing. Untill i had used the brakes again. So it appears it shows up when the brakes are warm. I have never heard this sound before.

Is my car telling me it needs new brake pads or a wheel is going to fall off or something????

Any help would be great!!!

i've kind of got the same problem with mine except more when cold moist now.... was when hot/warmish took the wheel of gave the brake/ disc bit of a sand clean adjusted handbrake....

does the squeak go away when handbrake is put on mate???

it seems to work for me but squeaks every so often yet to know what it is brake seems fine to me and cleaned but still has the noise hopefully will fine out.

i think its handbrake droom, boot thingo (dunno what its called)

pull ur handbrake a little when u drive see if noise goes, if it goes then its ur handbrake slighty rubbing on something, i dunno the mechanics of t all

...the squeek has turned into a scrape now..... :rant:

i hope its not a warped rotor or something...it had better just be a worn pad.....

It's the handbrake shoes. Mitsubishi released a revised version of the shoe to fix the problem a while back.

for what models on the magna??? whats the cost for the shoe if ya know??

the sqeauks goes louder at first when handbrake on then after 4 clicks goes away... but i've tried re-adjusting handbrake works a bit...
