the best thing to do with any speaker is to hear it your self we all have difference views on sounds, and just ask the people selling it weather there realiable etcetc

For the price you wont do bad (they look alright too). What sq are you after? Serious sq? Or loud sq?
Personally I prefer subs that can handle a sh!tload, not necessarily spl subs though, (as a sub with high power handling is not always an spl sub)

If your after something on a budget, then you wont do bad with that sub. What are you going to run it with? How many watts through it?

Have you thought about
Image Dynamics IDMax
Adire Audio Brahma
Hertz mille
etc

Other stuff, Don't upgrade your rears... Spend as much money as possible on your front splits and front amp. You want heaps of headroom. But the real sound of your system will be determined by ur front splits. Unplug your rears or worst case dial them right back when u have rear passengers.
Your rears will drag your stage backwards, and is not what you are after with an sq system.

For amps consider an old Alpine v12, I bought an old four channel with around 65rms per channel x 4 for next to nothing. People that see these old amps rarely realise their worth. You can bridge it for around 160 rms x 2, even if you dont plan on running it at this; headroom is what will make your system sound really solid.
You can run your splits off the front and subs bridged off the rears, in time you can run your fronts fully active off all four.

I would hold out on the 10.1 give it a while see what happens with the price. Don't buy a sub if you havent heard it before. I'd say check it out but its a while away.
Consider box size as well.

What system have you got now?
How much will you spend on the install? Can you do it all yourself? as you will need to budget a lot of time and money on the install, I reckon half the quality of your sound can be determined by your install.

peace

Tim
