Sounds to me like you've put a carby engine into an efi car, while i dont think this is a problem, you will notice that the carby will lack a fair bit of power compared to the efi version which your old TP motor probably would have been. Make sure you have connected erverything in the motor.

u put a carby engine from a TN into an EFI TP car correct? the EFI's have an electric fuel pump in the fuel tank. maybe this might be causing some havoc?
are you totally sure that the carby was in top condition? are the secondarys openning? the secondarys run off vacuum and so if u didnt connect the vacuum lines up properly you won't get secondary's

tested the O2 sensor came up ok.. the motors were both efi.. no carby.. thinking maybe that the cams out by a tooth???

The short motor between carby and EFI is identical, incidentally. It be only the intake and exhaust that are different. I know.
