Hey there,
Is there a site that has comparisons of the features of the differen 92/93 model magna features like airconditioning and things like that?
I googled around for a bit but didn't really know where to look!
Thanks!
i dnt think theres much difference between them, except that the ts has standard central locking on the exec models, and the tr dint..

boot garnish, grill, few other things
oh yeah that reminds me, also the bumpers- the tr is completely painted but has the rubber bits on it, while the ts has only the top part thats painted and the rest is rubber (see my av), if u get wat i mean

I'm assuming this is it: http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=389 ? (i haven't read it yet)
edit: i've read it now and there isn't that much information in it... i looked through every page of this 2nd gen tr/ts forum and it was the only relevant thread i found.. the other must have got pruned or something
I just want to know about a few really basic things (not is the grill 1cm longer on different models etc :P )
1. do they all have airconditioning
2. front or rear wheel drive
3. very different fuel economy
4. (remote) central locking?
thanks

im not sure if they all got a/c- i think thats an option which mine has :D ... umm, all magnas from 1st gen to 3rd gen are fwd unless theyre the awd magnas.. theyre using the same engines the tr and ts, 2.6 4cyl and the 3L v6.
theyre not remote central locking, but the ts has central locking

I'd get a TS, Get the 3L V6. TR's were mainly 4 cylinder 2.6 litres, with less power and the same economy of the V6. Also you're more likely to find less problems with the V6.

hmmmm thats interesting coz mine came with remote CL which i thought was standard. That will probably make it even harder to get a second remote now since its not a factory thing (only got one remote when i brought it)

The only 'stock' remote keyless entry system used in the 2nd gen Magna's was called 'ETACS'. When you hit the button on the remote, the 'ETACS' light will light up on the dash. If you get this, then its the stock system. If not, well you are looking at a aftermarket system, EVEN those that were put in by the dealer (Dealer normally fits a generic alarm system and charge the customer in bucketloads if the car wasn't optioned up at the factory).
Mechanically, there is nothing different between the TR and TS. The differences was the aesthetics, ie. the different cloth trims and different grill (TS has the kidney shape grill) and rear garnish. There are also feature differences, as listed below. The big change when TS was released was the number of safety features available. You were able to get a Drivers airbag, ABS, seat belts with webbing grabbers and load limiter, front seat belt adjustable shoulder anchor, and an immoboliser. The first two were options available for those who purchased a V6, the immoboliser and seatbelt stuff is standard on all TS models.
Now feature differences are:
*SE gets cruise control as standard on the TS.
*TR SE central locking is part of the luxury option pack, same goes with the power windows and cruise control. So for these the original owner would need to have taken the luxury option pack. These became standard when the TS came out.
*Exec gets central locking as standard in the TS
*Whole TS range gets a centre storage bin and armrest, whilst only the SE and Elite had these in the TR models.
*A/C is now standard on SE, but still optional on the Exec with the TS.
cheers,
dan.

Well im pretty sure i have an exec as it dosn't have power windows and only speakers in the dash (no standard rear speakers) and no airbags or abs or any special features like that.
But i can't be 100% sure as it was debaged so no "executive" badge and it did come with 15inch standard alloys (ones that look similar to the ones you get on tr veradas)
And i do have a red light in the dash which is next to the ignition but im not exactly sure what its purpose is as it just seems to always be on.

My 93 TR Exec had central locking.
I think you might find that the 93 and early 94 TR's had central locking as the V6 was across the entire range then. But the 91-92 TR exec's didnt.

My 91 TR had an aftermarket alarm and central locking when i bought it so i can only assume it was put in there after factory.

So there is a possibility of a TR Series 2? It's becoming just as confusing as trying to work out which 3rd gen TJ was a Series 1, series 1.5 or a MY02.

Well if there was any "series 2" TR it'd be the 93 models as thats when the V6 was across the range, and not just in the KR Verada.
They got a few more features standard. So I guess that'd be it
Oh and my CL is factory.
