Does anyone else have huge shakes and rattles in the parcel shelf and how have you fixed it? Also what are the deadening hot spots ( besides the boot and steel exhaust cover plate thing ) as I want to eliminate rattles from my car. Thanks.

I'm in the slow process of doing this.
If you've got subs the bootlid itself is the worst. I'm just gonna go deadener crazy on that. I think theres a little panel under the ski-port that is pretty loud. As for the parcel shelf itself. May need to take it right off and stuff it with some foam or something to stop a lot of the rattles.
Number plate goes pretty nuts, esp if you rear load ur subs. prob gonna put some washers in there and maybe some rubber in behind it. Rip the stupid mitsu surrounds off it cos they go crazy too.
I'll post pics up when/if I get around to it.

peace

Tim

I actually stuffed lots and lots of old rags under the parcel shelf, into any/all holes that i could find. i also glued some rubber to the underside of my number plate to stop the rattles. but i am now finding the boot itself is starting to rattle on me.....

lol yeah i did the boot with about 1/3 roll, just stuck the SDer on the number plate and 2 layers on the underside of the boot and that was the end of that. Also when you look in you boot to the left where the aireal is there is a leak overflow vent thing.. I would suggest opening those vents if you have major rattle on the left side. Hmmm I might have to ripp apart an old foam bed or something for the shelf. Magna's are just so noisy.

As long as the two piece boot hasnt had its clips broken along the bottom and stuff then it will rattle just as much as a TJ boot ( I have had a TE & now a TJ ). If the clips are broken then look out... rattle city here we come.

Rear view mirror you will just have to hold... fixes it no worries :D To stop things from rattling you add weight so more energy is required to make it vibrate. This is why we use SDer and there is no reason why you can apply it to you number plate, bodykit, rear view mirror or undercar.

You can buy a new mirror for a ford and replace it totally. My TF mirror has never had any problems.

Still can't see much out the back of it when music is on just a big blur... but no rattles.

and also how do i stop the rear veiw mirror ratteling?

by "ratteling" do u mean, vibrating so much that the mirror drops down so u can see nothing but the floor of your car in it, cause i had this problem when i turned up certain bassy songs in my car. I used some silicon glue to fix it, jus dab a bit on ya finger then rub it round the bearing behind the mirror and let it set over a day or 2 before u crank the tunes again.

This will stop the mirror from falling down but u will never beable to stop it from vibrating cause its attached to the wind-screen (on 3rd gens) and the vibration is passed through that to the mirror, so when u have your tunes cranked the image in the mirror will always be shaking

Cheap stuff from bunnings - Flashtac / brownbread = dodgy and you may need a few layers
Ok stuff from Jaycar, a bit better than flashtac
Good stuff from car audio shops and some autobarns.

Look for gspot, serenity max, stinger roadkill expert
