'98 TF Altera LS with 155k. Amazing condition; haven't yet found a scratch on it.
$7k at the auctions today. (plus their $300 fee of course)
Goes purrfectly... Only problem is I can't get the radio going. It's a factory Blaupunkt unit with detachable face; I don't think it needs a security code or anything; it just won't turn on, and I can't stick a CD in there. Any ideas about what I can try?

I dont think they came with a Blaupunkt head unit as factory, you sure it's not aftermarket???
Nah no idea if it is factory or not mate. But the car is completely stock otherwise so I'm assuming it is. The radio manual is in the pouch and looks to be same age as the other manuals.

Don't know much about Blaupnkt audio gear. But I've owned two different types of aftermarket head decks with detachable faces and neither of them were security coded. They both had a teeny tiny 'reset' button which you have to push in with a pen tip or something to make them work after the battery has been disconnected. If yours is the same I'd recommend looking for a small hole somewhere behind the detachable face plate.
Or even better look it up in the manual which you have already found in the glove box  .

if it wont turn on it's most likely a fuse in the fuse box under the dash or behind the radio
oh and sweet deal mate

Nice, another wagon, sweet find dude. :D
Got the radio going ;-))) Pulled the unit out, checked the fuse, unplugged and re-plugged everything; now it works. I suspect the fuse had rattled loose.
Yeah definitely not factory gear. Nice little unit though, sounds quite good. Friendly interface, too, bless those Germans ;-)
