Hey guys ive recently noticed that when i do a turn at low speed (eg like when u ar at the lights u stop and then turn right at low speed slowly accelerating ) i heard and felt a thud or clunk of some sort.
The thud or whatever it might be only happens when i turn into a street which is a 90deg to the one i turn from, i tried tonight to make it happen again one doing a full circle, then a slow turn that was fairly tight and could not re create it.
ideas on what i think or dont think it might be.
It could be the cv joint but this dosent feel or sound anything like a cv joint sounds when its worn, as ive already replaced one of em.
Ive got a TF Advance wth Magnaflow muffler.
Any ideas would be appreciated or if u had similar prob pls tell me how u solved it. Thks

Sure the clunking sound wasn't the sound of the engine idleing rough or missing? could be something power steering related.
Check your power steering fluid as mine has a small leak and when it gets to low it makes some very weird sounds.

Thanks for the ideas, never though it could be the power steering but will check that soon, im fairly sure its not the CV joints as like i said it sounds nothing like one going dead.
Im going to go stick my head under the car today and see if anything is loose and check the fluid level of power steering
Also im pretty sure its not misfiring nor idling rough as this thud was felt through the foot well on the drivers side like something hit the underneath of the car.

Check under your seats, in your boot for heavy objects which could make a clunk like that, at work one time i had a similar case of this happening, and it oly happened on certain corners.

Well my boot is empty except for the sub in box and under the seats there is only a bottle of water from the boot for emergency.
I looked under the car and shook the car and nothing moved, power steering fluid level is very good, i can see some of the insulation coming off the first flex joint. Other then that cant see anything else that could make that noise.

hehe, there's always a noise, a clunk, or a problem that is always persitent and nobody can ever find...ahh, such is life :D
oh..i have no idea regarding this problem, as i'm not very mechanically minded :doubt:

Maybe a ball joint on its way out ... it usually starts with the od clunk ... and then starts becoming more and more frequent ... under acceleration ... under braking and turning ... and also when hitting a bump. This may be the cause.
Best bet is to take it to your mechanic and get it checked out. And hope to hell on the test drive it makes that clunk.

May be a radius rod bushing or a dodgey engine mount.
