I called autobarn and they said that the book states that the panel filter for the TJ is not for a car LPG? There is a suggested filter for a LPG, but the book show blank - No model number? What is with that? Any one can shed light on this, as I am so close to getting one as they are on special!!!

Any guys with a TJ and a panel filter?

Can they catch fire with LPG <-- thats what a friend said, because they are oiled or something.

No to K&N, any very low air resistance air cleaner is a problem.
There are two reasons for this;

1. The gas flow system needs a drop in pressure in the air intake system. This suction is needed to make the vaporiser feed enough gas to the mixer(s)We use extra large mixers to maximise power and efficiency. This makes the vacuum signal rather critical. A low drag filter reduces the pressure drop too far a so the gas flow would be insufficient. We can offer much smaller mixers, which get over the problem, but they just restrict the airflow again, so the benefit of low drag filters is then lost.

Is this on a new direct injection gas system?

You could always turbo it... that would fix the problem!!!!!

The question is, can you turbo an LPG system???

No model number means they don't make one. I found out the hard way too.

and LPG is like 100 octane or so? Makes for a powerful (if slightly thirsty) engine I'd say...
and at the price of LPG (Central West NSW: 65cpl) a bith thisrty would be more than okay... :D

damn like 35 cents here in VIC, my dad swears by it. I used to drive my big 4.1 ford on it and it was heaps cheaper than my Magna is now. I considered a conversion, but too high k's on the tf and i'd have no boot space at all with my subs.

Dread filling up now, I'm used to filling up for $20. :(

We had a GQ Patrol on Gas, I remember being in Melbourne (I used to live in Dromana, Red Hill 11 years ago) visiting rellies and we were about 38cpl here at the time, and it was 19.9cpl down there, so we were filling up for HALF PRICE..... YAY!

Vortex/Optimax here is 106.9 at the moment :shock: has been as high as 116.9

You said it! PULP was 113.9c/L yesterday. BP Ultimate has been scratching around the 120c/L mark for a while. I don't even think you can buy Optimax in Darwin lol Maybe you can.. I don't use Shell much.
