The first picture has circled what I suspect is the cruise control unit. Please advise.

Edit: Pic 1 is cruise control, I discovered that the day after this post. Oh, well...

The second picture has a solenoid with two vac lines that go into the top of the throttle body, anyone know what this setup is about?

Edit: There are three hose lines from the top of the TB, the two lines closed the firewall run to the solenoid next to the fuel rail. The line closest to the firewall on top of the TB has a "T" section, the line continues to the back of the intake manifold to the MAP. I guess the ECU doesn't entirely trust the MAF or TB position sensor. Any more light to shed here?

This is under the hood of the TJ2 AWD, anyone else have the same TB hose setup and what model do you have??

Cheers!

If thats the throttle cable going in an out of it then it is most probably cruise control.

first pic is actually the wiper pump, noticed this the other day in a th i am working on, and dam their big!

the second pic, thoes solenoids are part of the emissions control gear (pretty sure anyway, havent had a chance to trace all the lines out yet.

the first pic is the cruise control unit, this is the part of mine that is broken

cant really see the 2nd pics....
but the cruise control on mine works on vaccums which runs from the cruise control unit across to the throttle cable

The first pic is the cruise control unit as stated. The wiper pump is attached to the bottom of the water bottle. In the second picture, the item circled on the throttle body is the TPS (Throttle position sensor). The circular diaphragm thing above the Throttle body is also part of the cruise control. Don't know about the other thing circled in second picture, I couldn't be bothered taking my engine cover off to have a look.

Second pic red connector is a vacuum switch for the exhaust gas recirculation control.

Thanks Leo11, I just figured out what they were today. The system is fitted to the TH/KH and later vehicles. NOx recirculation and reduction by combustion system. Non critical to engine operation.
