Anyone live in or near Bendigo in Vic, who can help me design/make a box for a 12" sub? I have no idea with this stuff and dont wanna ruine it.
Cheers
Luke
The sub should come with recommended size box, i recommend sealed if its an option. Otherwise look up on the web.
Get 18mm MDF from hardware store, big bag of screws, glue and 'no more gaps'. Cut panels to size (straight edges!!!!). Glue and screw heaps, like a screw at least every 2 inches on all sides.
Use 'no more gaps' or silicon or whatever and through the sub hole cover every join inside make sure its airtight. Run a bead of silicon around where the box will mount and allow to go off. Then screw sub in, this will act as a gasket while still enabling the sub to be removed.
Also either use a proper terminal connection for wires, or drill a small hole, feed wires through and use heaps of silicon to seal around.
Easy!

Hey ive just recently completed the construction on my sub box made to fit against the back wall where the ski port is.
The shape of my box is such that its like a double wedge shape with a wedge at the front and the back. The box holds a ALPINE Type S 12"
Its around 36~ltrs bracing removes a bit.
Ive still got all the calculations in an excel sheet and ive still got all the measurements for it too.
