Dude - if you need a hand to wire it up let me know - I remember what you said about wiring your car kit!! haha

Oh and it was EagleAus that had teh wiring diagram - and MagnaV6Sports has it as well - from memory.

The WIRING DIAGRAMS aren't all that correct. And it's not easy to wire up. I got mine done through a friend of mine who does all these things to cars even Bimmers and other European Cars and he just knew where the wires go.

Here's a pic of where I mounted it, I'll be putting the SAFC II next to it to complement the RSM. The dash has no proper flat surface to mount it with the stand.

Cheapest one I found here was 500 bucks... but if u guys want I can get them even cheaper back home and bring it back myself.

SAFC II is around 5oo (If I remember clearly) bucks back home and in Australia they retail for around 600... cheapest I found here was 530 with the Stand included...

Hope this helps....

* Those prices includes the G Sensor and Stand *

I wanted to do that as well, but the wires were too short (unless u want to take the trouble to extend it) and the car ECU is right in the middle of the front passengers' footwells.

nick, i think that it is worth it, it'll probably install cleaner up there! and i have time! so yeah, i'd be taking the time to extend the wires!

Yeah, when u do that, flip the stand upside down and install it that way.. you'll find that you get a better range of motion on the unit on the stand.... And if you are worried about the apexi sign being upside down when u see if from the outside... don't worry about it as the tint is too dark for the sign to see through :D

If u need help with the installation, let me know as I've got someone who can wire it up with no problems.

I am reluctant on extending the wires as I am paranoid about it not being accurate..

P.S For those who want to know more, the RSM GP is more accurate then the rev/speedo reading on the car as it taps straight to the wires :)

Ok - sorry the RSM I saw was just the RSM and not the GP!! Otherwise - do you think I would have left it in the shop without at least a deposit on it!!

It also cuts your speed limiter if you have one and is more accurate than the dials on your instrument cluster,

what sort of places would do a good install of one of these?

Manual
09-07-2003, 11:27 AM
Any reputable auto spaky could do it - but most import mechanics know what they are doing!!

hmmmmm, might have to make some inquiries.

The tinted strip on top of the window sounds like a good place to mount it too.

Make sure you get a few quotes, and allways have a SET price. If they say they have never done it before so they can't give you a price until its finished then tell them thats fine, i'll keep looking.

Don't let them screw you over, its happened to a few Aussie Magna customers who have purchased the Apexi RSM.

A Classic quote "Don't give the bastards the satisfaction"

Thats an SAFC, it's more of a piggy back computer.

The RSM is only a measuring unit, but the SAFC can tune engine managment.
