Hi all,

Had my TR serviced today and the following were reported as faulty. Could someone confirm that the quote for the part are realistic or am I being ripped off... :doubt:

This is from a Mitsubishi Authorised Service Centre and includes labor cost...

Oxygen Sensor: $134
ISC Motor: $208
Water pump & belt: $250
CV Shaft boot split: $250
TPS & Terminals: $536

Thanks in advance for your feedbacks...

that price wouldnt be for orignal mitsubishi cv

i think all those prices would be over-priced as its all mitsu prices..

I would say they are probably charging you a nice markup on the parts. I would say get those parts yourself then take them to another mechanic that you know isn't dodgy and get them to put them in for you. Some of that stuff is probably easy to do yourself if you have one of those haynes manuals (or whatever brand they are).

Oxygen sensor and ICS motor are probably easy enough to do yourself.

I had my (R) CV boot replaced about 2yrs ago, coz it had a split in it, cost $80 bucks at Midas! Now the (L) side has a split in the boot and needs replacing! Mitsubishi wanted $280, went back to Midas, $88.00!

Was your car playing up before you took it in for a service?

Cause if all those parts were really faulty as they say your car would have been running like absolute sh1t

The car would run bad enough with just one of those items you mentioned, not working right. I'd hate to see how it would drive with them all faulty at once.

I think you've been had.............

Dude if that's the throttle position sensor than you are being ripped hardcore, you could get a reco change over Entire throttle body for $90 which would cover those 2 things. I'm sure if you shopped around you could get a much better price.

i replaced my own oxygen sensor for $75 or so and was extremely easy to do. Dunno about the Tps or what it is even but it sounds like their trying to rip you off. The water pump belt is only $10 and if this and the water pump isnt working then your car would be hardcore overheating. So i sincerly doubt that the pump would be broken. ID be looking for some second opinions/quotes.
