the other day i was driving on a dirt road it was pretty good so i was going pretty quick about 80km
but after i noticed when i turn at low speed there is a funny noise
its hard to explain sorta a rattle or a clunk. its not the engine or the gearbox i think either cvs or suspension
it doesn't do it when i drive straight only when i turn to the right or left
im getting the cv boots replaced cause they are starting to perish
could it be some dirt or water got in to the cv?
anyone seen/heard this before?

Curry try to get it fixed asap. Its not hugely urgent if it's not too loud and only happening when u turn corners, but if it happens in a straight line..you better hope you're heading to a mechanics!

Why do you say that killbilly? I had a shot CV joint for months before i was bothered to have it replaced.
isnt there something about them locking up and causing accidents or something if you dont get them replaced within a reasonable time frame?

well luckily i have the car booked into replace the cv boots on friday
my dad called the mechanics and they said it would easy to change the cvs
cause when they order the parts for changing the cv boot they get all the other bits and pieces for the cv joint
since it not too expensive ill just get it done anyway
i was told a couple of hundred for each side
that sound about right?
thanks for help guys
yer sounds about right :)

If the CV joint makes that clunking noise when it's driving straight is very bad! That's why I said it.
A clunking CV joint in any form is bad and should be fixed asap. Because it's unpredictable..it could be a steady slow decline in condition or it could be good for months and then suddenly screw up and be the cause of a 5 car pile up on a motorway.
When it comes to suspension and the bits that keep you on the road...I dont like to muck around.
