Hey all,

I have a 1998 magna sports with tiptronic trans and i got a few issues.

Main problem is i live in tass and there a few hills, when i am going up u hill and take the foot of the gas to slow down because of a pot hole or something i put the gas back on and it just reves no power at all to the wheels reves up i have to take it off the gas every now and then and slow down to ablut 20kph and then it will knock in,

Also when driving around it tends to knock into the next gear ever now and then. Any one know whats going on? Is it on the way out. Has done 85,000km.

Im no genius at transmissions in magnas
But ive been getting something similar, usually over speed bumps and when u get over it it takes a while for it to engage teh gear and its sounds like its coughing. This mainly happens at uni where we have lots and lots of speed bumps.

hrrm sounds like a strange problem.

Before suggesting anything else which may scare you I know magna auto boxes do all sorts of funny things when the transmission oil level / quality is wrong. My reccomendation would be to have the transmission flushed by mitsubishi, it costs about 140-160 from memory but is worth every cent. It fixed the auto problems in my last two magna's.

Worth a shot. At least then they will be able to tell you whats wrong if that fails.
