I just got a price today about getting my metallic green magna fully resprayed because the paints gone sick in a number of places plus a few nicks here and there. The priced it at about $3000 cash.
I'm just curious if anyone else has gotten prices for a full respray and how much.
thnaks guys.

It will vary so much from place to place but I was looking at 3500 - 5000 to have my TE resprayed in a light blue metallic back a year or so ago when I had it.
Shop around, better yet find a mate who's cousin owns a shop lol

Is that a Newcastle price? If so sounds about right as a complete same colour respray around Sydney seems to be $4-5,000, and from what I've been quoted - Newcastle was a grand cheaper either way.

its hard to judge mate, alot of variables from car to car. But 3000 is about what i would be expecting to pay
yeh $2200 i was quoted for a respray,
did some negogiation and got the lot for $1300, this was over 2 years ago now

A Mate has the metallic grey magna tf exec and it needs a rear bar patch up, bonnet patch up and door have dings... the guy quoted $3000 cash private sale price, for it to become to showroom condition including removal of all windscreen moulds and even painting under them too.... These guys are excellent workmen and do prestige car insurance work of a high standard... They are overloaded with work but if u have the patience they are recommended... Any place that does 90% of there work for insurance jobs will over quote. Why?? because they don't need 'off the street' jobs. If you're stupid enought to walk into a big smash repairer who does insurance jobs all day long and ask how much it is to respray a bumper - they'll tell you it needs replaceing and will cost you $1200-$1500, because thats how much they charge insurance companies for that sh*t.
I know first hand that smaller shops will do a bumper for $2-300, and do just as good job, if not better.
Sorry for getting off topic - but I just wanted to demonstrate the point that you need to shop around. $3000 for a respray is too much in my opinion.

The point i was making is that the car was battered up and needed to be sanded back to bare metal, damage filled up aligned etc, and then resprayed and that price was very good and they do deal with private jobs and price accordingly ... But its up to u anyway

$3k is reasonable for a good job ie. they do take off the badges, trim etc. No major panelwork but you'd be expecting a decent sanding primer & rubdown prep.
Bit more for "colour change" job where they have to work on the door jambs & underbonnet.
We have a $1000 front quarter guard (albeit not 3rd gen):
New Panel from Mitsu $100
Fitting panel $400
Matching paint & painting $500

Just had the bonnet, front bumper and 2 front quater pannels fully prepared and sprayed on my KH last week. Set me back $1600 for the best job money can buy.

Mr Gloss in Moorabbin. Cant recomend him highly enough. Will only do cash jobs though. He doesnt usually do magna's/Commodores/Falcons etc.. Only really does prestiege stuff. No one can fault the work done though.
Had a major job done on rear quater and no one can tell its ever been touched.
