View Full Version : Front indicators falling out!!!
Had anyone else had this problem?
Its happened to me 5 or so times, both sides of the car, the front corner indicators fall out and flap about, held by the wire!
First few times were caused by driving too fast on rough dirt roads, but this morning it happened on the road, and it was the side that has a brand new genuine indicator!
Dodgy!

It did it to me once but I was going 180+. Get some silicon and spurt it in the holes where the clippy tag things go in. That will fix it.
Mind you iv'e been at speeds before in both my magnas and it has only happened once.

happens to me, but only caus my front fender is slightly bent inwards, so the clip doesnt click in properly.
make sure ur clipping it in right, and theres also a metal thingo that u should be using. i have no idea how it works so mine just kinda sit there, but i think its supposed to keep the clip, clipped.. if that makes sense
or like shagna said, glue it together.
oh ideed, and they put a dent in the side of the car when it flung off.
I stuck a stone in there on the side of the freeway cause the little POS plastic clip was just bending everytime i put it in.
do the bottom clips even do anything, cause they didnt seem to

I think you guy's are missing the metal clip which then clips on to the plastic clip that is joined to the body of the indicator. Unless you mean the metal clips are falling out....
I might try and get a picture.

Yep, this has happened to me a few times. Got sick and tired of trying to dodgey up the clip and forked out the $25 for a set of headlight protectors that wrap around the indicators too. This holds them in nicely, and I just push them back in place if I notice them popped out slighhtly when washing the car.

Yep you're either missing the clip or the plastic "hook" (for lack of better term) is broken off.

Never had this problem, and never heard of it til now. So all in all this was a pretty useless post :P. But if it ever happens to me i'll know what to look out for :).
i had front end damage and since it has been fixed have had the same problem. Turns out the metal clips were not replaced when the front end was fixed.
Where did you get yours replaced?
(I have my headlight protector covers on which holds them in now)

i got new plastic clips from the wreckers but they dont seem 2 make much difference. i think there is meant to be something else there. my drivers side one is alrite, itsgot a zip tie on it. but the person that did it had 2 drill a hole in the indicators clip. there's gotta be an easier way
there should be a metal clip that goes over the plastic clips. The metal clip forces the plastic clip to stay closed. Kind of hard to explain.
yeah I guess a zip tie would do the trick too.

Ha ha ha.
Thats how my exhaust is held on...
thats how my engine is held in....
well, not really. The numberplate's have the cable-tie treatment, tho :) And the mud-shields in the front of the car to stop the wider tyres scraping them at full-lock :)

And my entire front bumper!
Well, not entirely. There's also a screw from the numberplate, but that's about it.

I had the same thing with my TR after the front was smashed up. It takes alot of stuffing around until you get the holes and clips right before they stay in. Bloody Mitsubishis

since i repaired the damage from my crash at a cost of approx $600 when the cheapest quote was $2500 im very glad they use a clip and bolt in system rather than a welded system. Very easy to replace the panels and whatnot.
Crap. The one on my first gen's fallen out somewhere, so it's:
A) Missing
B) Scratched all the way down the quarter panel.
