My Ralliart is just about up for it's first service since I purchased it a few months back, and i'm interested to know what things other Ralliart / TJ owners have had replace/fixed under warranty.
So far I have the following short list compiled of things that I will be having the service department take a look at upon my next visit:
- Hand brake shoes
- Rear spoiler seals/grommits
- Trip computer - range to empty / fuel sensor-sender
- Slipping Clutch
- Deterioration of paint protection
Any other things I should have "checked" ?
Just check all your interior fit and finish I had a few minor things with my TJ series 2 when I had it allthough it should not be an issue with a ralliart. The only other thing they had to replace was the front exhaust Y junction :)

My airconditioner compressor needed replacing after about 30,000km :( but that was probably just bad luck.
I also had the Y pipe in my exhaust fixed, though now I've got extractors it won't be a problem ever again.. actually, that shouldn't be a problem for you either since the ralliarts have extractors rather than the usual exhaust manifold the rest of us get from the factory.
What's wrong with your distance to empty gizmo?

On my old exec it use to count down all the way to zero, on the Ralliart it gets down to 140km to empty then comes up -- -- and the fuel light comes on.
It may be just a difference between the 2001 / 2002 models but i'm going to ask the question...

I thought you were going to say something like that..
I don't watch my gauge that much any more - I just go off how many L I've used and try to refill somewhere around 60L. But when I first bought the car I was used to using it since that was the best function available i the commodore I owned previously and it would count down to zero too.
I ask the mitsu guys when I had my first service because the magna one would do what yours does with around 100km to go. They reckoned it was just the way it was; you could try and recalibrate it by holding the mode button in while on that selection but otherwise I should get over it - so I did :D

Mine's the same. It only counts to 140km untill empty then goes blank.
The only think I've needed replacing under warranty is the rear window and seal. Its' a common problem and used to creak which annoyes the b'jesus outa ya on long trips.

Thanks for all the replies - keep em coming, has anyone else had issues with a slipping clutch fixed under warranty?
Did they just adjust it or replace the whole lot?

Rear windscreen seal. Check for signs of deterioration - apparently it's a fairly common one also.

ReallyArt, i had the back window and seal replaced aswell but now it is starting to creak again. These back windows are nothing but a fucckken pain in the arrse...
When i get low on fuel eg.the light comes on i have not noticed the k,s left but have noticed that whenever the light comes on the distance til empty turns to dashes I just thought thats the way its meant to be.I thought that maybe the light was a trigger to clear the k,s til empty.Greg i have also had my front and rear windscreens replaced but had to wait a few weeks cause they told me that the sports rear window was a slightly different shape cause they didnt have any in stock. But i am not sure if the sports is a different shape or they changed the shape to fix the problem.Anyways (cross fingers) my rear and front windows are ok now.I think you could maybe find out more about cause i think you know someone that works at mitsi. :D
P.S sorry mine is not a ralliart just a sports and have had the front exhaust headers replaced too.

I've had both my front speakers replaced and the fuel sender unit. I wonder what ur guy's distance to empty figure show when u fill to the max? I get 650km, 690km,730km. Does this sound right?
Hmmm....what's handbrake shoe?

How do u know if the air conditioner compressor is busted or the Y pipe in the exhaust is busted?
The y pipe in the exhaust is busted it gives a buzzing sound (sorta metallic) at low revs :D

The aircon compressor in my car was making a very loud and obvious clacking kind of noise.

sLug, Yorke Motors told me the ordered the correct rear window but who really knows? I certainly doubt i will take my car there again due to all the hassles and them stuffing up my bonnet. At least they paid me directly to have the window tint replaced on the new window so i guess that is a small plus.
I sent Australian Motors and my Mitsi contact an email to find out about it. Strangley i still have had no response. Maybe it's been put into the too hard basket.
What dealer did you go to sLug (for the window?)
North east mitsubishi on north east rd you know you can take it to any mitsi dealer for new car warranty. :)

Thanks Mick. It's finding a dealer that actually *wants* to look after you. Most of them couldn't give a stuff!
