hello all,
have sony 6 1/2 inch threeways in the front of my TR. only recently my windows have been realy tough to wind down when the stereo is on. My gf was complaining about it the other day on the passenger side, but now is been happening on the drivers side  . it dosen't seem to be happening when the stereo is off, just when its on. Could there be a strong magnetic field in there when its on and thats why? Oh before you ask, no there not amped up, only the subs are.

I Highly doubt that the speakers are affecting the windows. I dont see how, even if it was a magnetic thing, it would have to be a serious magnetic pull for it to be affecting the winding.
My windows are hard to wind down when its cold. It gets almost stuck during winter.
i dunno, if it definately is happening when the radio is on.. maybe theres more to it..
hahaha, the only problem i've heard with speakers and windows is the magnets being too deep and the window not being able to be wound down fully...
but hard to wind?!
your window has miraculously snagged some speaker wire and made it hard to wind
You have a high content of metal in your glass, so its hard to wind
You have to ease you on that new stuff you got off TRboy

well i'd say that you might have had some dirt in window channels and the vibrations from the speakers has loosend the dirt and moved it down the channels
take out the windows and remove the channel strip and clean
then reajust the channels

Jellico1, you could be right, i have been "rally" driving the last month. The car has had its first wash in a month so, we'll see what happens.
(When i say rally i mean traving down a s*&t load of dirt roads cos my Gf's folks live out in the sticks)

If the speakers are affecting the windows it would do it all the time, magnet doesnt do anything differant when stereo is one or off..
Grease up those rails...

I sort of have the same problem.
my window regulator went a miss one day so i got it replaced.
sometimes the window is a pain to get open, but i use either silicon or CRC in the sides where the window is and that cures it for a while..
maybe the windows have been slightly unaligned when the speakers are going??
dont know, im no expert, but thats my 2 pennys worth..
