Hi all,
I am after one of these to hardwire my ipod into my old kenwwod head unit. Kenwood cd changer plug to rca audio in adapter dongle
Does anyone know where I might find one of these in the brisbane area.

see here (http://www.millionbuy.com/acckenaux.html) for pic of what I'm talking about.

I want one of these too but for JVC but i think that link is a different thing. Because its used to control the cd stacker aswell as send the audio signal its not as simple as just converting it to a set of RCA's. YOu would have to bucher a CD stacker. Tho i'd love someone to prove me wrong because i wanna plug my Zen into my JVC unit.

A ks-u57 adapter will work for a jvc...

Thats how I hooked up my ipod through the stacker... The stacker doesnt actually need a control... It has the line out... And it has the controls. There are options in the head unit to distinguish b/w stacker and line in.

i bought one for a jvc u can get them from some jb hifi stores. Bargained mine down to $70 from $80.

I rang up JVC and they wanted $85 i think...

yerp. providing you have stacker input.

:)

Well actually it goes 3.5mm -> 2 x rca male -> ks-u57 -> JVC stacker input

Peace

Tim

The kenwood one from prev posted site is $55.10 AU delivered (econnomy air so you could probably do cheaper on freight)
Might go it to JB's and say "I can get it for this price, can you beat it?"
They are pretty good at that on stuff I've bought from them in the past.

Just rang JB's up here and they dont sell them
They said we might be able to find one and order it in $$$ no thanks.
Might just have to order one from the states.

Was thinking of making one, or at least getting the geeks at work to do it, but I cant find a wiring diagram for the plug ie what pin does what. Also not sure if you need to wire it in such a way as the head unit thinks the audio in (pod) is a changer.

Might continue investigating, I know its only 50 odd bucks but better its still in my pocket (tight arse) :D
Anyone got any ideas?

it will most likely be 4 of the pins for left/right pos/neg combos.... The plug itself shouldnt have to distinguish b/w a stacker and a line in. the other pins will be for controlling the stacker.

Just play around.. use the balance control on ur unit to see which is left and right, try not to turn the volume up too much and ensure the unit is grounded properly so it wont ground through the connection.

*I in no way endorse anything I just said ;)
