good afternoon,
today i took off the centre console to discover how to connect my splits (or at least the woofers). I have central looking and alarm and i was wondering what wires come into the door. The front right speaker wire is grey and goes into TWO red sections(+ and -), the wires that come into the door are 1 red 2 blue and 1 black.
My question is which if any of these are speaker cable??? and any relevant info would be good thank you, i have tweeters as well but they are in the future.

look at which wires go into your speakers.

Or which wires came out of your headunit.

Are u going to install ur own wiring? or use the stock wiring>?

peace

i'd have to ask TZABOY but i think in the executive there was no speakers in the doors so i am doubting that the wires go there...i can use a soldering iron and i know the basics of electronics so i might have to buy some cable if there is no stock wires runing to the door...until then i am still unsure, thanks for your reply.

ah 2nd gen... A lot of the time the stock wiring is still in there... But I cant help u too much with 2nd gens...

Wiring isnt't too hard to get through doors. just a bit of an annoyance really.

Good luck

I find it handy to run fresh wire if you want to amp your speakers. Gives u the opportunity to run some bling looking thick ass gauge wire, and you get the fun of ripping your car apart and trying to feed it throught rubber pipes

It should be pretty easy to identify, just look at the wires off the aftermarket h/u (assuming its aftermarket) and look at coloured cable is connected to wwhat and u're all good. the white, green, purple and grey pairs of wires are the speaekrs ones...funny, i've isntalled so many h/u's and can only remember that front right is grey, front left is white......and the other two are rears....or am i wrong

With the 4 inch dont bother replacing the speaker wire, just take out the speaker from above and re-solder the old wire to the new speaker. If the new speaker is too deep you may have to cut the little plastic thing going accross the hole (easy to do). Also i'm gonna be putting 6" splits in the front soon, but i have seen in autobarn you can get 6" boxes, i wonder if i could place them on the floor somewhere, or even mount the side of the box to the door....hmmmmm.

i dont really understand that, i have 6inch splits in the doors, i had to cut a holes for them as there were no speakers in the doors, i dont think the front 4 inchs are working as with the 6x9s loud enough to hurt my ears i cant feel a thing from up front. Also i found where the wire goes into the 4inch dash speakers but i dont know how to access it, do i have to take off the whole dash??? i tried to take out the side panel but it was still stuck after taking out the outer 2 screws???

if you know that littel about the job you want to do get some one to help you do it or get some one to do it for you. not trying to be funny but it sounds like you dont know much about it and youll end up braking some thing shame your not in vic i would give you a hand

yeah true but im just finding where the wires run, at this stage i do not think that the stock wires that run to the dash 4 inch's will make it to the doors. I will definately not brake something as i am being way to cautious, thats why nothing has happened yet, i be thinking at this stage i will need to buy some speaker cable. I dont really want to tinker with the tape deck at this stage

the 4inches are easy, just pop out the grill cover, undo the 2/4 screws holding the speakers in place and lift out, solder the old wires to the new speakers and then screw ur new speakers in. This is assuming the stock 4 inch wires still lead to the H/U area.

ok ill give that a go, i dont know if your thinking that im putting the new speakers in the 4inch spot? To clear that up i plan to run the wire from the four inches to the door, only issue now is that this wire wont reach

Umm are you trying to say that your going to replace the 4" in the dash and put 6" in the door pods?? if so run new wire from your HU as it's much easier to run the new wire from the HU that try and fumble around and move the old stock wires. If your not doing this then disregard my post hehehe
