Has anyone else noticed that the side skirts on the VR-Xes are a slightly different shade of colour to the rest of the car? I've noticed it on mine and also pics of bains sienna red VR-X.

I think its just the angle of the side skirts, but I can see what your saying.

Jeez :P

I have to say you guys are fairly harsh on ya vrx's.. I can't seem to spot colouration differences, and my eyes were going over Blakes VRX quite franticly looking for possible things that don't work.

All I know is that VRX's are bloody hotttttttttttt, and you guys are too picky!@

Could it be possibly because of the differance paint surfaces.

there is a paint difference. comes out more on some colours than others. Nothing can be done about it. Its just how the colour changes when painting over metal and plastic.

yep, that right. 'cos the guys that did mine had a ***** of a job trying to match them properly. took em 3 days.

It's gotta be the surface that the paint's adhered to. I recently got the factory grey pastic on my kashmire exec colour coded and from certain angles you can see a bit of difference in the tone.

PS - is that the view from your back door noFy?? nice (no I'm not just referring to the car)

Yeah, now that you've all mentioned it mine's a different shade of white too if one really looked - One should think white's a pretty easy colour to match?

I say that's why the magnas are price the way they are as opposed to say, mazdas.

I know the plasic moulding at the bottom of the doors will allways look a different colour due to the texture or the plastic.

If its factory the paint will match as they spray all the parts with the same paint, however there are exceptions with a few kits which are dealer fitted.

Usually colour differences, especially with metallic paints come from the different texture and angle of the surface rather than the paint.

Agreed, from different angles and light my car is sometimes dark red to orange...

I'm suprised no one has fitted standard TL+ side skirts to a pre TL 3rd Gen (minus sports models) yet. If I had the money to splash on cosmetics I would have don this a while ago. It would require a bit of panel work on the lower part tof the doors to cover and spray the holes that hold the standard molding in place, but I think it is worth it as the TL sides look heaps chunkier :P

They are 2 different colours!look under your bonnet of your vrx and they give you 2 different paint codes for your car. I found that out when I got some touch up paint.
