I just want something a little more faster.

How much do you think i could get ? It has a rebuilt engine and the alternator and starter are brand new.

I wish it was a little more faster and it had Power Steering but i dont want to spend any more money on it. I have probably spend around $2500 - $3000 just on the mechanical side.

The body is straight and has a little rust.

Only thing that needs to be done is the roof material, breaks, and needs another centre console.

Oh yeah its a Manual

Oh **** i need to get that plastic bit thats in between the rear lights fixes too.

there all common gen1 problems you will be lucky to find a centre console thats not cracked and a center light panel in good condition too if you do good find

but the roof is easy to fix up

Really ???

Damn thats very cool. I thought i would only get something like $1200. I didnt know how much they are worth because my sister gave it to me for free and all i had to do was get it over the pits.

Besides them problems i mentioned, the car is fine. I even have the reciepts for the work done to it somewhere.

My centre console wasn't cracked, until the stereo went in.

i wouldnt mind a 1st gen as a run around car so i can keep the TL as just the business car (and therefore pay less tax :D) but seriously i wouldnt pay any more then 2000 buks for one, and id want it to be in damn good condition for that price too!! you may think that sounds un-reasonable, but im not very reasonable when it comes to buying cars :P

yer exactly you might see a great one at the wreckers, but all you need to do if take out a screw or 2 then crack, usless
mines cracked in about 3 places i have either hid it up with a badge :P or pushed the console up tight to try and hide them

but on topic so long as you mention that its had rebuilt engine and the alternator and starter done and you spend $**** on them and mention the condition wouldnt be to hard to get $2000 at the least just make sure everything works like the a/c thats a big plus mention that too

presentation, dont forget about presentation. If the car looks like it use to be a paddok bomb, then no matter how well it runs, the person buying it will think its a heap of ****e. a mate was trying to sell a VL which had a reconditioned engine and gearbox in it, it ran like a dream. Was a really nice car to drive, but no one was interested in it cos the paint work was completely stuffed. people automatically assumed it was rubbish and often wouldnt even drive it!

Il see what i can do about the paint. The A/C works fine. Im getting it converted to the new gas system soon so that will be nice :)

Shame about your mates VL. How much did he get for it ??

Reconditioned engine and gearbox is WAY more important than a paint job IMO. That would have cost him around $5500 ?

Them RB30 engines are awsome.

Firstly, if your sell your car with RWC and rego, present it as straight and clean as possible, running well with working AC, you could probly get any where from $2000-$3000, although depends where you live and just the general condition of the car and wether or not you can find a buyer, hard to really give a price with out pics or anything else to go by.

What kind of car are you thinking of getting? And yes those RB30 engines are awesome  , especially in an R31 skyline, series 3 silouhette, manual, and rear wheel drive as we all know. They're a little heavier then the VL's though, but are alot nicer IMO.

And a reco engine and gearbox isn't as steap as $5500, especially not for the very common RB30's.

thats cos there is a bit of difference between recon and rebuilds depending on who does them

Damn. I got quoted around $3500 for a recon RB30 and i thought the gearbox would be around $2000,

Anyway, ill see if i can get pix of my car. It pretty much looks like every other shiny red TN (just not so shiny on some parts lol)
