Hi Team,

After reading several threads on noisey/tappity engines I think that the lash adjusters may need to be fixed/adjusted/replaced.
Can they be fixed or adjusted?
Are they hard to replace?

Up until now I hadn't even heard of lash adjusters so where are they (other than on the heads) and what do they do? And can you replace one or two (or more) at a time or is it one of those "you have to replace them all at once" type of jobs?
And one last question, How do you tell which one(s) is/are making the noise?

Cheers

Perhaps I've asked on the wrong forum?

Anyone know the URL for Cosmopolitan?

lash adjuster is the small tappet that sits in the rocker arm...these are hydraulic, they tap on the top of the valve stem...i guess they are worn out when it starts to tick alot

to get to them u will need to take the rocker covers off which means you will have to take the plenum and a few other components out to get to the rears

once covers are off u will see the rocker arms...theres a few bolts on the rocker rail and all the rockers will come out with the lash adjusters sitting inside them

i would replace them all if i was to replace them, i heard they werent too cheap but i could be wrong
