hi every body this is my first post with you guys,

i have been looking into superchargeing my 92 TR magna after a friend was talking about it. modifing one to fit and installing it can easily be done by myself and with the help of some friends. i have looked into turbos before but it realy is to much monny for me to spend right now.

i gess the main apeal of a SC is that you dont need to modify any internals to start with. and i also dont need that much more power im just trying to biuld up a bit of a show car and the stock engin just isnt enough for me.

what i realy want to know is can i plum the supercharger straight into the MAF sensor or will the super charger swirl the air to much. maybe not at first but later on it ill also be flowing throught an intercooler.

also could i then run a standard pod infront of the SC

and will the standard ECU run up to about 5 psi or will i need a piggy back ECU

and how many psi could i run max/ continusly.

i have friends in the automotive industry so parts are cheap for me but i want to know if it will work or not

thanks heaps for any input.

First of all, welcome to AM...

On stock internals you can run about 10psi, with a decompression gasket.

I would reccomend getting a full ECU, but a piggyback will probably do the job for what you want it for.

Standard Pod? What do you mean by this? The filter that came with the car?

As for your MAF sensor, you SHOULD be able to get away with it, i know my turbo car is done like this, but it has an aftermarket MAF sensor aswell, whether it makes any differance i dont know...

Good luck with it mate

make sure u put the MAF inline before the SC. it will be fine suck through straight flow, not blow thru swirling. around 7 psi should be safe for most motors on stock internals, u could probably get away with a bit more (intercooled of course) but i would first want to know how much others have safely run of boost on the same motor on stock internals b4 you upped it at all. As u said u dont want that much more power (yet) so u should be very happy with 7 psi.

10 psi with an intercooler.

The standard injectors will not supply enough fuel past 2psi and it will start to run lean. At 3 psi it will most likely ping like a mother f**ker. You will most likely need larger injectors to keep the fuel flow high enough. Or you could high flow the standard injectors.
