ok today driving my car to the beach was driving ok then for some reason if i took it over 2500rpm it would start seriously putting. My first thought was i had dodgy fuel as i only had a little bit left in the tank so i filled up with mobil 8000. This didnt really seem to help so now im thinking maybe fuel pump, blockage somewhere in fuel line/rail/filter or something like that. does ayone have any thoughts and if it is a problem like this is it better to get mitsu to fix it or could an aftermarket fuel system be put in? im thinking if its a bad fuel pump then maybe i could get one that can handle a larger load or something for future mods. any ideas?

i had that problem with my first gen magna it turned out that when my fuel filter was changed the bastards who did it put the fuel delivery hose on so it was bent in other words wasnt getting all the fuel it needed to have power

Does it get worse as the engine heats up?

Sounds like it could be spark related too. Try changing your leads, check your spark plugs for fouling, also check your dizzy and rotor button.

i spose i was asking for that wasnt i. but then again i wouldnt have posted a golf issue into tech torque and how cool is the glow in the dark mini golf.

anyway the sparkies and leeds are about 5 months old but havnt checked them yet so will do tomorrow. If it is the leeds where do you get some decent ones that conduct good and all that. Coz last time i got just the bosch ones from supercheap. Strange thing is that it didnt do it today for some reason. ran no worries even when it had heated up. Will go through it thoroughly tomorrow when i have some time and check all those things.
