Recently purchased a TF Altera LS and, while it has central locking, it doesn't have remote entry. I'm not sure if it's supposed to; and I'm merely missing the remote control units, but either way:

Does anyone have recommendations for a kit I can get for this purpose?

Obviously it would consist of a couple of remote units, and a receiver unit that would plug in (somewhere) to the central locking circuitry.

Just go to your local mitsu dealer and buy some new remotes and code them to your car, would prob be cheaper than getting a new central locking unit with imobiliser

I see no mention of keyless entry. Does anyone know whether this car is supposed to have keyless entry?

All TFs onwards have keyless entry. I think TEs did aswell but its a different system.

If you like I have a busted case on a remote that I don't use anymore I could post it to you to try and code it (the electronics are fine ... its just the part that the keyring holds onto thats busted). You can then send it back if it works, when you buy some good ones for yourself..

Otherwise they are anywhere from $50 to $120 depending on how crap your dealer is if you wanted to suck it and see ... most dealers will program it for free.

To program turn the car on (don't start it) then on and off and on and off five times ... then on again. The indicators will flash once. No you can press the open button on the remote and then when the indicators flash once the remote is programed. you then press the open button on the next remote. You must program them all at the same time as the 5 times turning on and off clears the programming.

All Magnas TE onwards have factory fit keyless entry.
TE has a one button remote
TF Wagon has two button remote (buttons are a small oval shape)
TF Sedan has three button remote (ditto)
TH-TW has three button remote (green, red and small grey)
