I Have a 1994 magna SE which has done 112K. In the past 2 weeks I have brocken 10 belts on the alternator / pwr steering. The belts seem to snap on the join. We have checked the allinment and today we replaced the alternator. The new belt lasted 25K at an average speed of about 30klh. We have also used genuine and non genuine belts. The other belts are giving no trouble. There is no shreading or burn marks on the recovered belts. HELP please

We have set the tension so that it is so loose it only just works

Dodgey bearings on one or more pulleys/tensioners?

What about a damaged pulley?

or you could just be putting the belt on too tight
