Hey guys, im considering getting either 19 or 18 inch chrome or alloy wheels, just wondering what sizes would fit on my 91 TR Exec, out of the 17, and 18" range, have no clue on measurements  , cheers!

what do you mean by what sizes will fit?
19's should go on, i heard its been done before. As long as the tyre is within the right specifications. You will have trouble fitting anything thats larger than a width of 235.
same goes with 17's and 18's
hope i helped

just be sure to ask your insurence what they will allow and won't allow coz they can be real picky with rims. Also find out what is legally allowed by law in your state coz if you follow those rules then your less likely to have trouble with you insurence.

Here in vic if you go bigger than 16 inch it's illegal.
But i have a question for those law knowing peoples, when the law states no bigger than 2 inch than factory, are they talking about stock rims or all optioned rims? cuz the 91 TR had an alloy wheel option that was 14,15 or 16, so is the biggest 16 inch? or 18 inch?

TR-ENV It should be from stock 2"..
buying something as an 'option' is the same as buying aftermarket rims. only difference is its not from mitsubishi. Its not stock.
If you get what im trying to say..
tictic9, yea call up rta and see what they say. but wither way, u cant go past 235 as width cause u will have problems with scraping the guards etc.
If your going for 18's or 19's its most probably going to be illegal. cause thats 4 and 5 inches bigger than stock, usually the road rules only allow 2 or 3 inches.
Just a risk your goin to have to take :)
everyone does it tho

Yeah I've heard two things, one is that it can be 2" taller than the largest on that model. I think the biggest 2nd gen was 15" (KS Veradas.....) although because they are technically a different model (KS vs TS) they can probably argue it. I've also heard that it doesn't matter what size the rim is as long as the rolling diameter doesn't change by more than a cetain percentage.
The vicroads website (www.vicroads.vic.gov.au) or the NSW RTA site has all the rules buried somewhere, have a search around. Or just don't worry about it, I've never known anyone to get done for it. Hell I know people that drive daily on 37" (around 325/80-16) tyres on their 4wd's and never get questioned, and that is a BIG change to rolling diameter..... Like 8 inches different! Which is around 20km/h hour error with standard gears!
