Hey anyone who has got camber pins what camber are u running at if u know.
Are you or were u getting uneven wear? If so what camber do you have?
The reason i want to know is that my last set of tyres was wearing out more on the ouside of the tyre on the front left tyre. And i have gotten new wheels and tyres and i want to fix it when i go tomorow to get an alignment.
Thanks
Tom

or if u happen to know good places that do wheel alignments. Not k-mart.
So if u know a good place that know what they are doing and will be able to do the job properly that would be great.
Im in the eastern subs so anything around there would be good.
Thanks

I'm running -0.73 on left and -0.44 on right. The difference between the two are SA's shocking camber on our roads.

Do you think that the camber on each car would vary from car to car.
As i think when i got my camber pins put in they said they put it 1.5Deg on the left and .5 on the right.
That seemed to help but not enough, im wondering wether it might be because of pot holes or kerbs ( hit a kerb a last march accidentally but it looked fine then ).
Im hoping that the place i go to will know what to do as i dont want my new tyres wearing out badly.
Thanks
Tom

I'm running -1.5deg.
Whiteline recommend -1 to -1.5
I haven't had any uneven tyre wear which kind of surprises me.

I think each car maybe different. Wheel aligners have all different ideas. The place i had mine done at are Whiteline dealers also.
But it made a HUGE difference to the driveability of the car. It felt considerably better behind the wheel.
Now i have had the Antilift/Castor kit fitted aswell the improvement with steering feel and cornering is massive. It feels like a new car to drive and just flies around corners now effortlessly. It's a wonder why i didn't do it earlier!

That's what I've been saying. :D
If you have the money, put an antilift/castor kit in.

I was skeptical at first and like most, who would want to part with $500.00 to acheive very little? However after doing it, it was money very well spent.

a good wheel alignement wont cause uneven wear, my mate does wheel alignements for a living and he showed me a skyline he had done, 3deg camber each side (it may have been more, cant remember) but anyway with the correct toe and caster settings the tyres wear perfectly even

And not to over or under inflat the tyres when you have this much neg camber.

-1.0deg0min front left, -0deg45min front right. When I sit in the car this brings the right hand up to -1.0deg0min to match the front left.
Visit Tru-Track in North Melbourne and speak to Ralph or Luke (I just saw them yesterday for the 2nd visit). They REALLY know their suspension talk and charge $90 for a 4 wheel alignment. They also don't use rattle guns, do use loctite on camber bolts, and do take the utmost care with all the (usually hi-po) cars that go into their shop.

When driven hard consistently, yes. Aggressive wheel alignment setups (3deg is aggressive) will cause uneven wear if used for basic A to B driving.

Thanks guys for all the help went to Strut Fit in Dandenong.
Went there cause they were close and i bought my camber pins there ( this is only place that noted my camber was off when i first got new tyres ) Cost me $60 for 1hour all up and im happy with the service and was able to watch him do all the alignment so i know that he did it and it looked like he took care, even took it for 2 short spins to see how it was going, and fixed the position of my steering wheel being off centre when driving straight.
And it happens that the camber was only off by .1 degree and that it was my toe that was making it drive like a plough scrubbing the outside left ( Stupid victorian roads and all its pot holes  ) they mustve put out the alignment.
Now with this fixed i might be able to come on a cruise, though i gotta wash those white rims every few days, But i still love em and u cant miss my car now :D
