to fit them ul need spring compressors... cant do it without them
other than that its an easy job.. although u do have to remove the backseat to bolt in the rear struts..
otherwise alot of ppl recomment king springs which will set you back about $100 each pair..

If anyones interested, I spoke to a reseller of king springs I know, and he's willing to sell a full set (4 springs) of king springs for $230 for 3rd gen magnas, provided there are a few people interested. This is either superlow/low combo, or lows all round. These would then be available for pick up from they sydney area (my house most probably)... or I could deliver on cruises..
PM me if you are interested

I dropped my 97 verada on superlow kings all round 2 weeks ago and it handles fine, and thats with the standard shocks. Haven't had any probs with bottoming out or grinding on speed humps.
It dropped about 45mm.
I'm glad i went the superlows, cos lows wouldn't have been low enough to give the mean stance my cars got now.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention, if you drop it yourself, you'll need to get a wheel alignment done pretty soon after cos you're car will pull to one side.
And it you want to go lower than super lows its time to get the angle grinder out at the expense of your smooth ride and handling, or you can get them heated and compressed,
or invest in some air bags.

check out www.mysti.org/magna and see my ride height.. i had superlows at the front and lows at the back.. i changed the struts too so the ride is awesome.. bit stiffer but not too harsh..

I got it done at the tyre factory in bundoora, they said go super lows all round and supplied all the the parts.
I wondered why everyone was only putting low on the rear, i thought it was just to try and get a more even gap at the front and rear.
I think the guys at the tyre factory said something about not being able to get the right peddars springs for it, but king springs were all good.
They didn't need to use spring clamps tho when they put on the new rear springs so they were fairly compressed.

I'd be in on a group buy...for sure....If i wanted to maintain handling and performance...would I need to invest in some new shocks? Or what would i need?

they told me they put super lows all round, so i'm taking their word for it.
so i don't know???
it does sit really low in the rear end compared to most of the other magnas i've seen on this site tho.
The top of the rear tyres go just under the rear guards,
Ok I'm pretty sure my car has the TE-TL Sed/Verada KE-KJ 45mm Low App Springs
KCFL-42 in the fronts, and KCRL-43 in the rears
I was told superlows were put in.
So it sits about 15mm lower than Lows, and about 15mm Higher than Superlows. My Bad.

not if your good, done mine myself and it steered straight as a gun barrel, didnt even pull when braking, but i got a wheel allignment cause im not game enough to risk it suddenly pulling to one side on a long trip.

Its up to you about the shocks.. i would recommend it.. KYBs are cheap and very good value for money.. great for most people and around $140 each..
If you are going wit superlows i think it might be necessary to upgrade struts, not totally sure about this one tho (someone correct me plz?)

Im picking up my TH Sports on this thursday or friday!! :D
I want to lower it, but will I loose any handling? Cause it was pretty good with its sports suspension already, it just sits way to high.
Also, the max I can lower it is specified by my insurance company as the manufacturers legal limit, which is 383mm front and back (from the centre of the rim up to the lip of the wheel arch).
Can anyone tell me what their measurements are on lows or superlows so I know what I can get?
Cheers

im looking at getting a complete suspension kit from whiteline coz my TE doesnt handle like id like it to, very slopy under braking, and waayyy to much body roll on corners.
i think the kit covers struts and braces top 2 bottom front to back full springs, EVERThing
how many inches does the Kings Lows drop the car? and for the 2nd gen 1's they should fit on the wagons too yeah?

Yeh springs are still for sale.. Depending on how many people want them will depend on whether postage is included or not..
My KYB shocks cost about $140 each. Ride comfort is a fair bit firmer but still comfortable. Its great being able to feel the road more..
My car doesnt bottom out.. I scrape the tow hook on certain roads/driveways.. and the mudflaps always scrape on speedbumps but thats no drama.. front dropped about 2 inches, rear dropped about 1-1.5 inches..

Kings specify approx 40mm drop for low springs and 50-60mm drop for superlows.
I can order 2nd gen wagon springs.
well im inerested... but if my brother says no, i guess i cant get them, which is quite a bugger. if he does let me buy them u should be able to get the cash in hand maybe by sunday cruise from my brother (if he's goin), or an upcoming cruise

Hey mysti
What were the part numbers for those KYB shocks for your TH?? Im wanting to get some also, would just make it easier for me to know the parts. I tried looking at your pic of the boxes, but cannot find the part number. Also, what are the superlow springs from Kings? I spoke to TTF and they said that apparently KINGS do not make any for magnas? Are they for another model car or what? What is the part number on those springs too? CHeers gal

just finished putting my springs in, my car drives straight too ( before the springs went in it pulled to the left!) but ill be getting one anyway cause i dont want to chew through my tyres.
the springs are a peice of piss to fit. the fronts were a little biy fiddly, but nothing to bad
and yes, you will need spring compressors
yep i brought up an old thread, but im wondering, have the springs been ordered??

Not sure if this has been said but the fronts are the same from TR to Tl. The third gen will also fit the second gen, they have thicker coils thus a bit stiffer.
i have the third gen all around my car, the 92 KR Verada if this helps, they are Kings, got them of Pomejoe from his TJ VRX
If you are doing this yourself, be careful, the potential energy can KILL read my site for tips.
Also do not use cheap compressors, choonga can attest to this

not sure if your Kings springs prices are still the same, but there was a price increase from 1st of March 2005.
Anyway won't steal your thunder, but if people are still interested in a group buy, I can help out, otherwise we do the springs at $240 a car anyway as our everyday price.
As for the KYB we do them for the TE-TJ at $450 the whole car. Freight is usually $15-20.
