Last month while having my mag serviced at Mitsu i noticed an ad for Engine Flushing. After having spoken with the sales rep he tells me that having it done on my mag wud increase its performance. What tha ****. Anyone tried this yet? Opinions please .. .

I'm guessing they meant cooling system flush, this generally won't affect performance, if on the other hand they meant fuel injection system cleaning, this may affect power by clearing out any crap in your injectors. This will allow greater fuel flow when they are at full duty cycle.

I have my injectors cleaned about once every year / 45k, definately notice the difference, but then again, I have my foot buried everywhere.

I clearly remember reading ENGINE FLUSHING. The rep did say heating of something , scrapping of something and flushing of something.

When they say performace they mean the car running better not a better quarter mile time...

There are some types of engine flushing that actually hook up a pipe to the place where the oil filter normally goes, and pump a heated solution through the engine, which dissolves carbon deposits and crap from the inside...

I've heard (but aren't willing to try  ) that draining the oil, refilling with diesel and then turning the engine over on the starter (not actually starting the engine) will flush the oil galleries well. Then of course you have to drain the diesel and refill with your preference of oil.

Sounds a bit suspect to me.

Abb0, that would probably work, but i wouldnt be game to turn it over for very long, if anyone tries it make sure they disconnect the plug leads!! lol

Engine flushing can work miracles, I once did an old escort, the engine was not that old just had not been serviced. The compressions were around 80 psi per cyl before, went up to 175 per cyl after.

The whole idea is to remove sludge from around the piston oil rings and also from the top end. It can have many benefits.
