View Full Version : What suspension to get for good handling
I am seriously considering getting a sports set up for my TJ exec., but everybody I talk to about what susp. to get say something different.
Ok, so what is a good setup to get that well improve the handling so I can take the car out on the track on the weekends, ride quality for everyday isn't compromised too much and doesn't cost a fortune (little flex with that cos I realise the more you spend the better the gear).
Pedders, Whiteline etc. How much it might cost.
I know its one of those questions but does anybody have any ideas?

Do a search and you will find hours of verbal dribbling on this subject.
Many people have king springs and monroe gt gas shocks which offer a decent handling upgrade without beaking the bank or totally changing ride comfort.....throw a rear swaybar and a front strut brace on as well for a big improvement.
But if you are serious about taking it to the track then you really want better shocks like adjustable koni's and i would want my castor/camber adjusted, anti lift kit, mega swaybars etc as well. In which case go and talk to a reputable suspension shop and compare their prices for a complete "works" kit to the one offered by Whiteline.

And pay the big bucks for it
Remember will sacrifice your ride comfort considerably, even adjustable shocks on soft setting is pretty hard. But if you dont mind that its cool.
I wish I could got to town but the $$$ get in the way

Pedders is good...
oh no, here we go :D
Ok pedders is good and whiteline is good, they are about the same price as well.
So which one is better, because it seems like these are the two decent ones to get, or are they (whiteline offers the whole works eg camber kit, braces etc).

I'd just go the Whiteline package as it's the path of least resistance and has been developed to work together. You may be able to get the same stuff from a variety of manufacturers for less, but unless you're really tight for cash why bother.

ok i would get the Whiteline package but not the whiteline shocks (whiteline shocks = koni shocks but cheaper) whiteline buy there shocks off koni then repackage them
i dont think u will get a better package fo rhanlding than that should cost about $2500.00 all up

Good for the track and comfortable on the road but doesn't cost much. Those 3 are not achievable at the same time; you're going to have to pick one.
