I did a quick search, but I can't really find a lot...
Maybe I was searching wrong - if so, I apologise in advance.

I have a 1990 TP Executive Wagon, and I'm looking for some information.
All the factory speakers are dead, excepting the one on the driver's side.

I don't have an alarm on her as yet, but I'm looking into the options...
The main thing is, I'm probably just going to add new speakers behind the factory panels.
There was a thread that mentioned that it's hard to do this, but the other thing is that I've been told that I'm going to have to buy 4''s with a smaller hub, and that has no outward protrution (sp?) of the tweeter.

I've been recommended one of the pioneer 4'' speakers, and also one of the newer sony ones.
What are other people's experiences in this situation?

If I end up spending enough money, I'll just go for a package with 6'' and tweeters for the front, and 6x9s for the back (or maybe the back doors...), but I'd want an alarm on there even just because of my paranoia (she's my first ;))

Any ideas/suggestions/threads I should have already looked at? ;)

Sorry once again if I should have searched more, but it's late :P
Thanks

Steer away from Sony speakers, some of their other stuff is ok, but imho car audio is not Sony's forte.

I can't help you out with ur TP, but there's a few ppl that know the ins and outs on here.

Considered upgrading ur headunit? If you havent already.

If you're running a stock headunit your wont get much out of upgrading ur speakers, and probably wouldnt do them justice. You can get decent mp3 units for around $200 second hand.... Food for thought

It is generally better to get a set of 6's at the front as they offer a lot more bass than 4", which have a natural roll-of around 300hz (midrange drivers, not sub drivers).

Some of better 4" around though are ones like Phoenix Gold, Hertz, Diamond, Focal and Boston.

Go for a set of 6" in the front doors, and the 6x9's are good in the back if your not getting a sub, if you have a sub go for 6.5". Best way to put speakers into the front doors is to cut a hole in the metal behind the trim panel, its a pretty easy job. Then just screw the speaker in, i have pics if you need them.

being a wagon if your after speakers in the back just get a pair of 6" for the back as there is already a spot for them and its 2much work to fit any bigger back there, as for the fronts probally best getting speakers in the door insted of replacing the 4" up on the dash
also if you installing it all your self and get stuck just yell out as a few of us inc. me have the service manual for the TPs which has alot of details of pulling the things you need apart

And watch out with your trim. It might pay to sound deaden the rear trim whilst you have it apart to put the speakers in.
