Hey guys as u know i just got myself some new rims and they are white.
Now im looking at painting my calipers to match the car and the rims or more just the rims.
Now i have a problem i dont know what color to paint them and what type of way to paint them, either spray or brush and paint.
And i want to try and do my timing belt and transmission flush, so ill be doing a bit of work this weekend.

Nice wheels, they go well with the colour of the car but plz plz plz plz lower it n tint the windows.....
For ya brakes i think a blueish colour would work best, preferably the same shade as your car.

Yeah i know i gotta do those things but all in good time, tint i might get soon and lowering will have to come later ( Stupid Insurance AAMI ).
And i need to finish off ICE install before anything else so money will be scarce.
Im thinking blue as well as it would be a good contrast between the white rims.

Might give you some idea... This is what I guess the 'true blue' colour might look like... oh and I lowered it a bit while I was at it ;)

maybe white, clean and not too lairy
I'm a fan of yellow calilpers. if i were to do mine i'd go yellow. then again, white rims and yellow calipers don't go that well, so blue is the go. :)
red looks nice everywhere, but like asylum said, its damn common. black is just...well, pointless! white and blue aren't too bad.

OOOOOHHHHHH!!!!! more colors thanks thw01f and HyperTF for ur photochops, its really good seeing how it would all look.
And since i suck at photoshop thanks for lowering it too, and the blue and white are definately both nice, i think those are two colors ill be,
thinking about maybe white hubs and all in there and blue calipers and brake lines, now that would look interesting, but i think for now ill just paint the calipers and then move on to the hubs.
And man my weekend is gonna be very very busy with a lot of things to change
Timing Belt
Fuel Filter
Engine Oil+Filter
A/T Flush and Filter
plus finishing off sub box ready for new Head Unit
And painting calipers
Also rims and car need a wash white gets dirty quickly ( Need dust free pads!!! )
Damn thats looks like one expensive service for parts, install free.

definately not yellow or blue, looks gay as.
all white will probably look wierd
reds not bad IF you lower it and make it look a little sportier
i vote black or the same colour as your car.
anymore advice and i'd have to charge you lol

Black, they are STD brakes and are better looking tidy than sticking out like a saw thumb then when people have a look finding out they are just STD

Hey TF_ADVAN, are you doing the timing belt yourself? If you are, its a fairly long job to do, but not difficult. There is also an idler pulley that Mitsu chuck out on the V6's. Its the one in between the a/c comp, and the alternator. Also, Metallic blue would look pretty schmick on your calipers.

Will keep u guys posted on when i get them painted, as i cant wait for weather to get better here in melbourne ( today its too windy )
And yeah Screamin TE im gonna do the timing belt myself, me and my dad did the water pump about 6 months ago and it took the whole day doing it first time, alos had misfortune of forgetting to remove pin from the tensioner having to take most of it apart again to remove it. Im guessing this time it will only take me about a few hours this time.

Do you need a special paint for your calipers?
thw01f

from http://www.speco.com.au/vht_faq.html
"Why do I need VHT Brake, Caliper and Rotor paint, won’t any Engine Enamel work?
* Brakes reach temperatures of 345°C. plus. Even VHT Engine Enamel is only rated to 249°C.
* VHT Brake and Caliper Paint will take temperature of 485°C. and is chemical resistant when dry."
for colours available go to page 3 of http://www.speco.com.au/Downloads/VHTBrochure.pdf

Well the stuff i got was K+H DISC DRUM CALIPER spray paint.
And they say on the can "The paint is a blend of resins which through repeated exposure to heat, fuses the enamel to the surface increasing bonding strength and improving toughness"
So im sure if u got just any spray paint say one for dashes would probably come off after it gets heated a lot, and cools off etc.
So yeah u do need a special paint.

Wicked!! Do you reckon that red would go with the silver ralliart? The interior & steering whell is red is all
TF_ADVAN

Red usually goes with anything as its a fast color.
Just liket the poll shows the red is also the most popular, and i dont see why it wouldnt look nice on yur Ralliart magna. Thugh its always good to have ppl do photochops of ur car too, with the color, thanks again guys.

TF_ADVAN
07-02-2005, 09:47 PM
yep they are 17"
Any more and i think cops would defect me and maybe insurance might not cover me, that and they do cost more for bigger.
