Hey all.

A friend of mine has a smashed up lancer (the evo 6 shape). and i was thinkng about buying his spoiler but i dont know weither or not it will go on. I not know if people know the one im talking about but its the massive chuncky spoiler that is pretty common on lancers. If any one has any inof i would appreicate it.

I personally dont like the look of wings, or spoilers on TR's other than the stock ones.

its up to you though.

a guy on here TR-ENVY has a evo spoiler of some kind on his TR.

If you want to know if it will fit, measure it? Id imagine lancer boots are smaller.
Just make sure u really want it before u decide to drill holes in your boot :D

Well as i am the man to have done it i say do it!
The wing will sit a little uneven when you put it on the TR boot (only like .5-1cm out), but as long as it comes with gaskets or you get some gaskets yourself, it will fit perfectly!
Also yes i have trouble with the boot popping up by itself, but if your boot lock works you can just turn and lift, i'm looking into getting something to pop it up, i'll let you know how that goes. My boot lock is broken and will hopefully get fixed this weekend. Another problem you will face is matching colour. As i just bought my paint new, and putting it on a 14 year old metallic paint, it dont match, although i didn't put clear on it and i'm hoping that the sun can damage the new paint a fair bit so that i can just clear coat it when it matches. If all else fails i may be looking at getting the whole car resprayed later in the year. If you have any questions feel free to ask, as i'm the only one on amc that's done it :).

Is it a hard job? the idea is very new to me and im still deciding wether or not to do it. these gasktes that you need how hard are they to come by. Im an aprentice polisher (spray painter so i could easily take it in to work and match up a colour, just the plain magna white. i never use my boot release either so that makes it easier.

It's fairly easy as long as you know what you are doing. I had instructions to follow, the hardest part is making sure you align all the drill holes properly. This could prove very difficult for a 2nd hand spoiler as you dont get the little black plastic strips that line up holes, and the wing will have gaskets underneath but they may be worn and not worth using, you could ask mitsubishi if they have spare ones, or just get the rubber material and cut your own. I can put up a tutorial if people want? When i finish the 2nd generation website i'll hopefully have a tutorial on that for it.

So in other words the spoiler is supposed to kinda mould to hug the rear of the car (the top of the boot) but cause its a bigger boot its not gonna give that effect..

some people might use the term 'shopping trolley handle'

but i like the look of tr-envys spoiler

put some pics up of ur car and the spoiler Aegis, and we'll photochop it in for you. see if u like it.

i got the spoiler i didnt realy hesitate due to the fact it was........ FREE. damn i have been lucky with this car. The gaskets on the wing were still good but the middle of the wing still sits fairly high. Did you use any other filler or anything? Wjere did you find the step buy step guide?

step by step guide came with the spoiler. For free thats alright!
OK so i take it you have placed the spoiler on the boot (no mounting) to see how it fits yeh?
That would explain why you think the middle sits up, the outer legs will sit flush but the front of the middle leg will sit flush and curve upwards as it goes towards the back correct?
Dont worry, i was worried too but when you mount it using the gaskets, the bolts + gaskets will pull the middle leg down and it wont be sticking in the air. You may also find you'll have to go out and buy extra long bolts cuz the ones that came with my spoiler were too short. Just go to autobarn and match up the hole, i can tell you what mine is but it may be different. Any other troubles you have just pm me or add me to msn leighm85@hotmail.com.
