welcome to aussiemagna !!
i am sure tat if u were in another forum... ppl will get annoyed and tell u that the topic has been beaten to death..... and that u should use the search function ... but the AM community is different :D
here is a run down:
pod: more expensive (~$200) but better gains high up the rev range... also allows for more potential when doing further mods... also more induction noise if that is ur thing... but needs CAI
panel: cheaper (around $100) and more bottom end response.... does NOT void warranty... easy to install... less gains compared to pod
really depends on ur priorities...
good luck with ur decision...

just had to say well said there sola|2a,
welcome aboard sikjoy!,as sola|2a said this place is different to other boards, people here are much more easy going and willing to help instead of shooting people down in flames when a common question is asked.
as for your question sikjoy!,well i aint an expert on either of these, but i do know that i myself will certainly be getting the pod setup over the panel setup (when i finally get around to it ),as i beleive (as sola|2a,said above about adding more mods the pod would be more beneficial)so there is my 2 cent's worth, and while i'm at it thanks to all who make this place what it is.
P.S.i hope that u are going on sunday sola|2a,and all u other SYDNEY based MAGNA'S!!!!!!!!! ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) 8) 8)

the pod should allow your car to breathe much more easily as compared to the stock induction setup. it should shift the torque curve either up or down the graph, that's abt it. and of course, a much nicer induction note. depends on how much you have to spend. if you have the cash, by all means go the pod. as the ppl have said earlier, it acts as a basis for future mods.

Howdy Sikjoy,
Im a firm beliver in pods, if you search this forum you will find plenty of information on them but in a nutshell a pod will allways flow better especially in the higher rpm range. They look great in the magna's engine bay and produce a nice throaty induction roar when you give it a fistful. These generally don't void new car warrantys but you will need to check with your dealer as it varys from dealer to dealer (you would be suprised, Mitsubishi's policys aren't set in conrete)
A Panel will flow better than stock thats for sure however won't flow as good as a pod in the high rpm range so thats where power is potentially lost. They are a dead simple swap and no increases or decreases in noise to be found.
Hope that helps, for prices download the latest AM Price list from the online store menu, if you have any further questions please feel free to ask.
Cheers
Blake

To some it up mate, if you wanna be that little bit quicker off the line, get the panel filter, you can pick one up for about 120-130 bucks. But if you want that igh end power, high, long speeds, then go for a pod. 220 bucks would fix it. up to you, the way you driive, and what you wanna do to your car.
