I'm thinking about getting myself a new Sony CDX M8800 head unit soon and was wondering if anyone knows anything about or has one in there car? Also saw some of the new 2005 kenwood models yesterday too which look pretty cool.
One feature I must have is a indie aux in port and another is a largish display.

With most headunits you can buy additional adapters to convert a cd-stacker input into an aux in. In Pioneer Headunits you can do this conversion urself into their p-bus input. (basic soldering job)

So don't let these that option limit your choices.

Take a look at Pioneer JVC Alpine. These should all be within your price range.

Got a quote for one of those adapters for my old kenwood h/u off Autobahn today. $130 :shock:
I said oh ok and walked out.
Could make one of these myself if I knew what each pin is for in the kenwood changer plug.
Anyway the old kenwood h/u is ok, been going for ages without a problem (the stacker however is having issues and it's about half as old) but am thinking of getting something a little more bling bling if you know what I mean. :D

Have a look on some of the ebay sites too. If you can live without warranty and without all ur radio stations. You can pick up top of the line units there worth ~$1300 rrp for about $600-$700.

Sony headunits are alright, The one there looks very blingy :)

If the price is ok and its got all you need then go for it.
