Hey,

Driving around today, mostly around Moorooka (roads are quite sh!t), i heard a loud knocking noise coming from the rear left. Every time i would hit a decent pothole, a single knock would come from the rear left. I spose it has something to do with my suspension, but cant really see anything majorly wrong.

It has been lowered with KONI suspension, but im not sure how long ago this was done. I bought it as is. 2001 model. Could it be possible that the shocks have had enough?

hi,
not sure if it's the same thing but we used to have a falcon that made the same kinda noise, turned out to be the bump stops, not to expensive to buy but if you get someone to fit em it might cost a bit more (parts approx $70 pair, total inc fitting approx $150 ish)

p.s. i was gonna say goto pedders and get a check done for like $17 but then i remember the advice they gave me "replace shocks, springs and bump stops" - total nearly $2000

bloody rip off's

If i do choose to get the Shocks replaced, what would be a considerable range of $ to spend? Ive' had no experience in this area, so please advise.

Sounds like bump stops or a possible stripped strut nut. I wouldn't replace the koni shocks.

i'd take it somewhere to get it looked at (but i wouldn't go to pedders, lol) and i definately wouldn't replace the shock till i knew that was the problem, at a guess monroe's (spelling) would be like a minimum of $150-$200 each

maybe try beaurepaires or someone like that, they're the ones that fixed me up after the "NO BULL" from pedders

Make sure a wheel brace or spare wheel etc hasn't come loose !! :) hate for it to be something simple ... and have you spend up large to find out.

As far as I know, all Konis are re-buildable.

I had the same problem a few days ago. It turned out to be the bracket on the lower control arm that connects to the sway bar had snapped off.

Hey dude no need to get the replaced, half the reason you buy konis, like a k&n is they're fully rebuildable, so save yourself some dosh and get them rebuilt :P
